  1. One day they'll invent this thing called a telephone...
  2. I am like that about SMS.
  3. ^This is the point.^ Make sure you use a key that fits well and make sure there is no crap in the socket* to stop you putting the key fully home. It's good practice with any threaded fastener. Also, you might find that the truss rod adjuster is harder to turn than you expect. In that case you can slacken the strings to take the string tension out of the system. It should help. Welcome to the forum JB. *It's an internal wrenching fastener. It's harder to recover a stripped one of these than it is with an external wrenching fastener such as a screw or a bolt.
  4. I've never seen tuners with knobs on before.
  5. Er... a steel rule? Heeheehee.
  6. Welcome Plaaty.
  7. Crafty. How are you going to place the strap button(s)? I am assuming that without one or two at the bridge end, the tuners will be prone to striking the floor when someone inevitably assumes it's okay to put the instrument directly on the floor and lean it against something.

    Hi..

Welcome Yorick... assuming you are not jesting that is.
  9. Welcome Davide.
  10. Have you decided the shape yet?
  11. Again, those few nuggets of information have made a lot of sense to me where folk have spoken volumes before and got nowhere with me. Thank you.
  12. Welcome PJ.
  13. None taken... heeheehee. You'll do fine my friend Bonne chance.
  14. Welcome Sam. You'll find the Build Diaries interesting.
  15. ... having first shªt in his slippers. (Possibly OTT?)
  16. Very kind. Thank you. I'm glad you kept it a matt finish. It looks bang up to date and smart.
  17. Welcome Binuche.
  18. Welcome Bassosaku.
  19. ...and the string tree/retainer? (I wasn't going to mention it in my previous post to save you embarrassment but @MoonBassAlpha has no such scruples so yeah... that.) Heeheehee
  20. Good Luck With The Sale... I like your version better though and I'm stealing it.
  21. Andy? Have you any plans to make the cut ends of the strings safe other than cutting them as close to the clamps as you dare? I know from experience that, with headless, you can overshoot so easily if there's no volute and I'd worry about snagging myself on those as they appear in your recent photos. I'm keen to see how you finish the neck end. I'm gathering ideas for my own build down the line somewhere.
  22. It needn't be said but GLWTS anyway. It's smashing looking. Are you putting up any clips for us to hear it?
  23. I believe the rule of thumb used to be 90m for cat5 cable before you needed to address signal loss.
  24. Thanks for the detailed explanation of low pass filtering. I'm one of those who is easily overwhelmed when presented with too many options but your explanation has helped my understanding somewhat. Cheers!
