What are the characteristics of that? I'm quite interested in this but I'm interested in Wick tone, other than that it looks like a Rockbass.
It basically is the parts you get on the Rockbasses with a genuine German Warwick neck. I used to have one of these and whilst i preferred my Corvette (active) the necks on these are great, the build quality is also top-notch as it's made in the same factory as all the other Warwicks Carolena is also called Kodiak Pine i think, here's a thread about it: http://forum.warwick.de/17-warwick-rockbas...od-wind-up.html It also says it's called Carolina Pine I found it quite light. Another advantage of these Streamer Standards is that the control cavity is big (standard Warwick size IIRC) so it can accomodate a pre-amp and battery easily if you choose to make it active. If i'd have kept mine i'd have put a pre-amp and pickup in there, there's usually something cheap in the for sale section on here so it needn't cost the earth
2. It's not that bad Max, there's still a ton of bargains on there from perfectly legitimate sellers. I buy most of my computer stuff on eBay, it's miles cheaper than anywhere else for the stuff i want I got my Warwick Fortress this year for £250, also had one of these for the stupid price of £40: http://www.elonex.com/products/webbook_windows.shtm There's always going to be idiots in every walk of life, i quite like digging up bargains but there's a hell of a lot of cr@p to trawl through. Same as a car boot i guess

SOLD

Should be Carolena
4. Peter bought my Warmoth Jazz, great communications and seems like a good bloke Would definitely deal with him again
5. Have you tried adding another Aggie 112 cab? Would be much easier to transport than one heavy cab and paired with a good head could be all you ever need
6. He said it's been eaten by termites, on one of the horns it looks like the shell of a bass!
7. I have a mate who spent over £200 on a set of earphones, only to get them trapped in a taxi door on a drunken night out. Cue 25 minutes of them bouncing off the road at 30mph, they were well and truly broken afterwards!
8.
Looks like i'll probably be going for the OPB-2/3. just a bit worried about whether it will fit, the corvette has a rather large cavity but im just wondering whether it will need some routing done, to house the battery :/
Yeah mine is an 18v bass with seperate battery compartments, it still takes up quite a bit of space in the cavity though You may be looking at having a cavity routed for a double battery box tbh
9. The MEC units are good, i'd try both a 3 band and a 2 band before buying though, i would prefer to have a mid control on my Warwicks I prefer the Aguilap OP3 in my Zoot to any other pre i've heard, if i was fitting a circuit to a passive bass that would be my first choice. It's got a great mid-range which i really like. There was a thread about Warwicks and Aguilar preamps recently on the Warwick forum: http://forum.warwick.de/10-warwick-basses/...p-3-preamp.html
10. Another +1 for making your own. There's loads of easy guides for soldering Neutrik connectors, here's one: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc...3SbDjohrcmY_rYg I made a few recently and was well pleased with the results, i bought a load of Neutrik connectors on here a while ago (cheers Stevie!) and Van Damme cable is pretty cheap. Obbm stuff is great, well priced and very quick too! I actually quite enjoyed making mine, it only takes a few minutes if you have something to grip the cable and connector with
11.
Great song, but its called "Rocks" - Our guitarist always calls it "Rocks Off", and I've become completely anal about it! Sorry
I've always called it "Rocks" out of laziness but actually thought it was called "Get Your Rocks Off"! Ah well, i was right all along!
12. If i owned a Stingray or another bass with a single pickup that far back i'd probably use a thumb rest. Either that or just float my thumb all the time I used a MM bass as a spare once and felt the need for one. It's not a probem for me on a P Bass because the pickup is in a much more convenient position
13.
hi not interested in the bass, but every bass i've ever played has had a lower output when on both pickups, something to do with the wiring, someone explained it once but i forgot...
My Warwick Fortress also does this, although my Corvette has an even output no matter what position the blend knob is in. Strange as they're both MEC equipped basses, one a J/J and the other a P/J Anyways, nice bass!
14. Tanglewood do (well, "did" i think) a really small bass, called the elfin. It's a half-size 26" scale, i was looking at getting my nephew one but he's probably a bit big for one now http://www.dv247.com/guitars/tanglewood-eb...mahogany--46918
15. Low Rider by War, also helps if you have the deep voice to sing along (i haven't!)
16. I played one of these when they came out, my mate bought one and it had a grey finish with the grain showing underneath. They also had a green one in the shop I think it was in the region of £300-£400 new and i thought it was pretty good at the time They also did one with f-holes, always fancied one of those
17. Ace! Congrats dude!
18.
That's a bit harsh I don't think there's any need for that kind of personal attack.
You're only saying that cos you bought the hat....
19. I wouldn't buy a cap to meet Flea. I would however buy a pair of Hi-Tech trainers to meet Jeff Berlin I would also buy a wart to meet Lemmy
20. A bit of good news at least, glad the bass seems ok
21. Bought a little bass cab of Nik, top bloke and went out of his way to kmake sure i was happy with it One of the good guys!
22. Bought some rather nice pickups from Pete and they arrived very quickly, cheers bud!
23. I've got some longer leads i'd like to exchange for some shorter ones, my power bank came with leads way too long for my pedalboard! How long do you need? I can measure 'em tonight
24.
No, had a bout of sanity and finally decided to keep it as I couldn't bear selling it so cheap, would rather live with it. Also someone on BC very helpfully sent me a link to somene in the US that had a 5 string Warwick neck selling for £65, so I'm getting it picked up by a mate over there and he'll chuck it back to me when he's over here in new year. So could work out ok in the end. I'm selling some other basses instead as I need to raise cash, but probably put up in nearest music shop, so they can be seen & played before buying. Cheers
Result! Sounds like you made the right decision, although i'm surprised nobody snapped this up tbh!
25. I want this bass so bad! That is possibly the sweetest looking bass i have ever seen, good luck with the sale bud
