1. Brookes is not part of the Oxford Uni, but it may well be a decent college
2. I know a few drumers , i have to say
3. A drumer or bass for a sexist band .. pretty tempting. But please keep it simply
4.
I've gone back to the Status Halfrounds. Still got that flatwound feel but sound like a worn-in roundwound and closer to flats & much better value for money. Hope they are UK made & not shipped in
These precision bass strings are NOT simply another company's strings, re-packaged, with yet another label on the outside. 5. Nor sure it raised a laugh. Raised an eyebrow though
6. You guys are as bemused as me, then 10" what ? And flexible because he does Pilates ? What is he... a porn star ?
7. Tempting TR, if you could find one of them 2nd hand, as you would of course get hit with the depreciation if you bought both new
8. If you like Nickel wound over Nickel round core ( a bit unusual ) these are a bargain. They seem to vary from £28 to £37 for a 4 string set, but this guy is punting them at £15. Only 2 sets left. I've blagged mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DR-NLR-40-Sunbeams-Bass-Strings-40-100-Free-Shipping/112128718727?_trksid=p2054502.c100227.m3827&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D39356%26meid%3D21c1d60c1c50409084ad1fb9aac75a20%26pid%3D100227%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D112128718727

14.
Really nice looking bass. A mate of mine scored an alder/rosewood one of these and I was really impressed. Terrific build quality and some sweet tones. The only thing that was a problem for me was that it felt quite heavy, so I would be really interested in the weight of yours. These are the best bang for buck bass that I have ever handled, and by some distance. Indeed this couls be all the bass you need. Congrats
Just checked it on the bathroom scales .. cant speak for their accuracy though , but the bass came out at 4.3kg , around 9.4 Lbs
15.
Oh great, thanks a bunch. I have severe gas for this exact model, and now you come along with these great photos and a really positive review. Not fair!
Glad to be of service
16. You could do a lot worse than an ESP LTD New price is around £422 + so a private seller / 2nd hand bass should be around your price. Ex demo one on fleabay , but they're a dealer, so will be higher than private sales http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESP-LTD-B-204-SM-FL-Fretless-Bass-Guitar-Natural-Satin-EX-DEMO-/272373661571?hash=item3f6abc3f83:g:yWcAAOSw-kdX1ro5
17. I checked out the options and you're right , there's no Ash body / Rosewood FB model. You have to go to the Alder bodied models to get a Rosewood FB
18. Agreed..when i saw the headstock from the rear, i thought i've seen that shape before.
19. I posted a 2x12 but i happened to have the original box and i seemed to have collected 3 tons of packaging over the years, so was happy to post. The buyer arranged it all
20. There's no shortage of knobs in the world, thats true No, its not heavy. I might have to throw it on the bathroom scales and check. No neck dive , by the way
