1.
I'll post pedals, but anything bigger I'm willing to pack it for the buyer's courier to collect, but wont ship it myself. This is from dealing with couriers in a professional capacity, I don't want ultimate responsibility for the way a third party might (miss)treat a shipment.
Indeed If you'd rather not have the responsibility, then collection only, or let the buyer book their own courier at their cost. Not only do they pay the minimum postage cost ( no inflated postage cost from seller ) if it all goes a bit turbo, then the buyer has to deal with all the courier BS And thats another reason why i only use Bank Transfer or at a pinch, Family / Friends payment via Paypal. Its so easy to get scammed by buyers on Paypal using the Goods payment , for which the seller has to pay a fee.
2. This just winged its way across the North Sea The build and finish is incredibly good...no big gaps, no varnish runs, no sharp fret ends, no buzzing, not even a dead spot. It even came fully set up, with low action ( which i like ) intonation spot on, and fitted with Daddario XL's and batteries ( 2 of , 18v ). I just made a tiny change to the pup heights, and hey presto. Wonderful array of tones, by the way. Obviously not used in anger yet, but things are looking good, people The money shots..
3. Thanks chaps Good info as ususal
4. I remember watching the Woodentops and Rag Tag & Bobtail, if that's a give away
5. Well it cant be feet and neither can it be CM So its def. inches
6. Yup, read it again Rough measuring ( there's a weird recess at the back which i approximately accounted for very generously, so if anything, the cab dimensions are slightly bigger ) Inside meaurements taken 21.5" wide x 19.5" tall x 13" deep 2 Ports ...3.25" diameter x 5.5" deep
7. Anyone notice the octaver coming in and out
8.
There's a great vintage guitar shop in Oxfordshire. .
Pray tell Dave ...
9. Thanks chaps Weight of 4 fanes is 11 kg so not too bad really. I wouldnt go for a 15 because it already has a 15, and having 4 x 6" markbass cabs and how much i like them, i figured i'd like to try smaller speakers in something else Is the 55-5000hz @ -6db on the fanes anything to worry about ?
10. Hmm...i might have to let Phil answer that one
11. Its vintage and scarce these days, and of course, all proceeds go to the Fleabag Custom Bass charity
12. Sounds like a plan
13. Getting it in one piece might a minor miracle as it looks glued. Wont know till i try though This might be take a while but will def keep you informed Phil. I had great advice from you techies when i wanted to fit the Beyma SN 110's into old Peavey TX cabs and they turned out great
14. Indeed, i was thinking perhaps the older model that i own would be ok
15. This sounds very credible after reading that. It means some work as the baffle board will need completely changing as its housing an Ampeg Neo 15" right now
16. I can testify that either Ninja or New York will sound toptastic. I had the NY 2x12 and only sold it on becuase i went over to a pair of NY 604's
17. If you want some poke, ( matron ) the older BA 600's have plenty of oomph. I have the BA 600 neo 115 , big poky 600 watt combo and only 55 lbs
18. Just had a look myself, and no problems ( regular PC, not mobile )
19. damn scum What a shame
20. Did the perp survive ?
21. I was hoping it was a pub i knew, but i cant even remember the last time I was in H.O.T , let alone the name of the pubs.
22.
My favourite weird pub gig was when I roadied for an evening for a friend. First half went ok but at at the break we heard sounds of shouting, then a scuffle and then glass breaking from the small patio / smoking area. The landlord had apparently picked a fight with a couple of locals. He then turned all the power off and then told the entire pub to F-off and barred everyone present from ever drinking there again saying he'd remember all their faces (this included me and the band). One of his bar staff got the power back on as the punters drifted out and told us we'd get paid but should scarper quickly. The landlord then had another fit of shouting and threw himself out of the pub shouting that he wouldn't let himself back in again He headed off to the car park right next to the police station and attacked a copper who promptly locked him up for the night. The pub was not only opposite the police station but also the magistrates' court. Needless to say he lost his licence pretty soon after. . .
That takes the biscuit for weirdness. As an Oxon resident myself, which/where is that pub ?
23. Very useful info Phil, thanks You talking about the Fanes , Phil or the Faitals ?
24. S O L D
25. They do look amazing, you're right, but at over 2.5 x times the price of the Fanes at £111 each x 4 ( £444 ) + £15 delivery = £459 ...ouch ! Only 2 chances of me buying those - fat chance and no chance
