1. SIT Silencers are quite magical. I've used them on Fretted & Fretless both They dont sound much like the dull ' dompf ' of a regular old school flat. Quite punchy in fact but they're amazingly easy under the fingers http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/SIT_strings.html
2. Just testing Its John Weider
3.
I only really know his playing from Bandstand by Family - one of my favourite albums.
He was on Fearless, as well as Bandstand. Just the 2 albums unfortunately. Ric Grech and John Weider played on the other albums But this is one of the all time tone monster / creative bass lines from Wetton ... what a peach and my fave bass line of all time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1XKdXXZjDc And if anyone has forgotten what JW used to look like back in the day..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AEFJmhigdI
4.
Thanks guy looks like i did the right thing then
You wont know that till next week
5. You have a PM John. I'm assuming you want to have a look at the cab, seeing as you're local ?
6. Yes thats right - in fact you can just hover your mouse pointer over a name and the drop box appears for PM
7. Now sold - thanks to all for your interest

9. Thanks for all the PM's I didnt think it would conjur up that much interest TBH
10. Indeed, i dont mind who i sell to Thing is, i've held onto stuff before when folk have said i'll have it, and days later they've changed their minds. So, its first person to pay and thats it !
11. Damn - i knew i'd forget something Its 4 ohms
12. Due to sheer unadulterated laziness, i've abandoned this project. I have the attention span of a 5 year old, and i'm now playing with other stuff This was a Peavey Sarzo flagship bass in 1989, flame maple neck through, ash wings. Walnut ( i think ) stringers. It was stained red but i stripped it off to show the body wood It has the original Peavey gold tuners It has the original Schaller roller 3 way gold adjustable bridge and new, these are £129 by themselves http://www.allparts....ridge-w-rollers - its the GOLD version Part no: BB-0318-002 0 in stock £129.50 inc VAT I had a luthier ( Thomas Handley ) fit a flame maple fretless board to match the body and he also made the truss rod cover in flame maple. Its been routed for different pickups over the years The electrics are ok as far as i know. It has a battery box but i wired this as Vol Vol Tone and have placed a block of wood over the remaining pot holes This is probably a bass that someone would want to see in person ( West Oxfordshire ) but if you fancy the project, please arrange your own courier to collect from me by arrangement. I can pack it fine and print labels BACS /Online transfer or cash on collection - dont trust Paypal !
13. This 2x12 is for sale because i've moved over to a pair of MB NY 604 cabs, being a lover of Markbass. Its pristine, and owned by me since new. I've priced it to sell, rather than haggle, as they're £560 new + shipping and this cab is basically still new I'd rather collection in person from West Oxfordshire, but this leaves a lot of potential buyers out of the equation, so i'm happy to box it and post it if anyone wants to arrange their own courier to collect from me by arrangement. This ensures that you only pay the minimum shipping cost, as you choose the courier and method I can print labels Payment by BACS / online transfer. I dont trust Paypal !
14. Scum sucking bottom feeders are everywhere, and Gumtree is just another area they permeate. They will do anything rather than earn their own way in life. They'd rather just rip it out of someone else.. easy money. They must send millions of these every year, and if 1% get suckered in, they make a fortune Sadly, we can't eradicate gullibility, and so there will always be ' customers ' who fall prey.
15. Great demo of G Labs with MarlowDK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98ENhBPZAcM
16. Rang Mark and bought the cab - what a friendly chap he is. I rang him late on his mobile and he was actually out having dinner somewhere with friends
17. Cheers Gary - never thought of looking there. Its more expensive than my last 604 purchase which was a private sale on here, but he's a business and has overheads, so i guess its par for the course I'll ring him and see if he's up for haggling though Thanks bud
18. If thats Classic & Cool Guitars, Gary - i cant see any cabs at all, let alone a 604. They only seem to sell guitars from what i can see
19. Wow - good searching and a very interesting read Only 92db too, but as you say, way too expensive. I'm definately leaning towards the idea of just waiting for another 604 to pop up. At the moment, my own 604 is partnered with my MB NY 122 2x12, but i prefer the dimensions / layout of the 604 and if i find the another 604, i'll dispose of the NY 122
20. PS I just scanned the B & C website and they don't even list a 6" driver, so i'm guessing that Markbass had them custom built
21. The 6FE100 has a poor 91db rating , though double the Xmax of the 6PR150 Just out of interest, I'd be interested to know the resonance of the MB 604 B&C 6" drivers , because i love the cab.
22. Good points made and having thought about those points over night, maybe i'll just hang out for another MB 604, which would be a lot less grief, i guess Just out of interest, i found 4 of the Faital Pro 6PR150 NEO's for £262
23. I could change our band name to Beyma ? Just stick letters on, spray, remove letters
