1. Is the ring finger good for anything that's non triplet?
2. Thank you, I'll use winamp with pacemaker, which I can recommend to anyone who wants to slow down a song easily.
3. I just got so sad after having read this thread. I have been playing for 6 years now, and I am definitely stuck at speed now My left hand technique has improved greatly over the last few years and so has my right hand technique but not my speed. My fingers are quite close to the strings but I can't seem to get past the barrier... my target at the moment being able to play Stockholm Syndrome by Muse (durr...) without a pick. Is it just me who finds that song ridiculously fast to play or are there more of you who think that the song is quite fast to play?
4. Can't help you but damn, this is a sexy bass!
5. You either tune your bass down to C (I think that's how his status is tuned) or play it through an octaver. Wolstenholme does that quite a bit and it's what makes his bass sound so synthy (along with his big muffs). This vid might help you a bit too!
6. wow this still here? Would be a good set together with the nemesis cabs on sale!
7. The only reason I had for buying my Eden Rig was the weight issue I had with my trace/ashdown set. That set sounded absolutely brilliant and it was f*ing loud too! Money is no guarantee for good sounding gear in my experience, tweaking is everything!
8. If you pay flight from the Netherlands ... Seriously: good luck man, I know how hard this sh*t is
9. Nice bass! If you need to raise money, get a crappy car, wreck your tail lights and just brake in front of loads of cars and try to settle with 200 pounds every time... see how quickly you can get this baby Just do that 30 times or what ? Have a bump!
10. Had the same issue with my Van Der End (that's less known than a 7ender) but an amazing deal popped up out of nowhere! Be patient!
11. It definately looks like something somebody drew when they were drunk... I love it
12. The previous owner asked Schmidt to install the SSRB-1B pickups instead of the usual MM pickups, and asked for a SD Hot-P instead of the Sandberg P pickups. It love the P-sound of this bass and the rick pickup is a good addition!
13. Traded it for my Van der End Jazz, and 'despite' its looks I absolutely love it! Pity it's not as good looking as the Van der End
14. The Nemesis serie is great! I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a nice all-round sounding amp!
15. (mkay, doublepost..) It's saved I got me a nice Sandberg Precision and treated the Ibby to a set of new strings to make up for threatening it (A)
16. Traded for a lovely Sandberg.
17.
If i could find a light enough 2x10 then i might think about it. It would be great if i could afford a markbass 2x10 combo but then again that money would probably be better spent on some insurance lolz.
I am one of those people that do not like the markbass gear... the tone is not vivid enough for me. As for a good lightweight cab, there are loads to be found in the amps and cabs forum; the leightweight cabs thread. I'm very fond of my Eden Nemesis set, but you might even want to go for less weight. What amp are you currently using?
18. The only way to get through the noise in rehearsals and actually hear instead of feel what I was playing: mids. I love it! I think I tried that one after reading about the sadface smiley here somewhat over a year ago and never got back from it!
19. With my coverband we have good connections to a PA rental service, which we pay €100/150 euros depending on what set we need. We always get the same guy to come with us too (thank god he's good friends with us so he will work for free if it's a low-profit/playing even gig). You need a PA or such a deal! As for bass: in small pubs I don't get to play with DI, pure bass amp force. You need a good amp for that that doesn't go crazy at loud volumes! a 2x10" cab works like a charm in my case, preferably raised above-floor, or tilted if possible. I was lucky though, to be able to get into a band with such connections!
20. Japanese Vintage lovers are in luck, today I got offered a reallllly nice Sandberg P in trade, and it might 'save' this one
21. I'll talk to my luthier about it; he's bound to have a good opinion on it. And I'm more thinking about what I want with it then a next possible owner. If I can mod it to my own liking I don't need to sell this
