1. above? ... you were doin' it 'rong my friend
2. 2x Japan 1x Korea 1x Netherlands
3. thank god it's a matter of taste
4. one of the basses I've tried it is my precision and it really did lack balls with that one, as well as on the neck pickup on my jazz. the sound wasn't good enough for me. Perhaps I should test a MBtop through a different cab.
5. I compared them at all kinds of settings, but at all rates the markbass seemed a bit behind soundwise. It might have been the speakers, as I said the amp itself was really responsive... Also, it's probably a matter of taste, but still I feel the speakers on the MarkBass combo's are not doing the amp justice.
6. it could of course be that the speakers have a 'low' standard? The amp on itself was pretty responsive but I just couldn't get a direct sound out of it.
7. indeed they are spawns of hell as you can cleary see after having put a spawndetector over them!
8. So... I've tried out the MarkBass MarkBass CMD 102P next to Aguilar equipment (not sure which, but also 2x10" speakers) and I was surprised at how bad it actually sounded (trust me, that was not the bass). To me it sounded like there were 2 very thick duvets lying over the amp. When compared to the Aguilar, the Aguilar had a way more defined sound. So that made me wonder... is MarkBass really worth the money? I see them everywhere (probably that's why a lot of people buy them), but I am near thinking they're pretty overrated for the money. Or am I the only one thinking this?
9. Bump with final price reduction... I can't and won't go any lower I'm afraid
10. This set is for sale as I'm currently want something more compact. The set is in great condition and perfect for someone who's looking for a giggable set for not too much money. Perfect for use in practice room or in an activity centre as it's really hard to break this. Looking for about 350 pounds. It would be handy if you're living in the Netherlands, as shipping this would cost A LOT of money.

SX rat!

sounds great! what strings are you using?
12. it was set pretty high because I have a lot of attack in my playing (pretty heavy Tool-like music). It needs a new nut so basically it's avoiding too much buzzing atm. Should get round to having a new nut placed, as I don't want to do that myself.
13. Firstly, sorry to hear about your grandmother passing away. You'd do well in buying something like an SX bass and upgrading it. There's a topic about cheap basses that do the job somewhere, you can find a lot of info in there!
14. We recorded this over the internet, and hope you like it These are different people I've recorded it with. Had nothing to do with the mixing or anything, just playing. I know the vocals are off in both vids, but I just felt like posting these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBbUYpssBBI Stockholm Syndrome (bass, 2006) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4bE_IIAx9Q Hyper Chondriac Music (bass, piano 2008)
15. reason why I'm selling my Fender.... they're so cliché
16. Okay, first impression at practice: This thing is loud!!! I have to plug it into the active socket else it'll clip like crazy, which is definately a good thing  The (passive) sound control is really good, and the feeling is very nice. I have to lower the pickup around the E string because the strings sometimes hit it. It looks like the E in the pickup is raised though, so I might have to find a way to lower that. Overall: 250 euros well spend, and I'd love to try it next to a Fender.
17. I'd be losing a hell lot of money if I went below 300 pounds, so I don't really want to go any below that :$ I'd even consider a swap then
18. oh that's definately a good thing But you're not having my Roadstar II
19. I have a Van der End myself and is plays amazingly well. Currently there's a particularly nice 4string jazz available from http://bassmatters.nl/bassmatters_eng.html for €1250 Alder/Walnut body, Maple Neck, Lindy Fralin pickups, VDE-2band active circuit. Active/passive switchable as far as I can see. Look in the gear porn section for my (15 year old!) Van der End!
20. I haven't named her to be honest. I'll let you know what I think after having tested it at rehearsal It's my only passive-only bass so I'm curious how I'm going to like it.
21. Mm.. that is a bit tempting... any pics?
22. That J is looking realllly nice I'm not a white-fan myself so I don't really enjoy those, but I'm sure you'll love it
23. And... I ended up buying it, for only 250 euro's
