1. Unfortunately I don't have a great cam but here goes A 'van der End' JB, made in 1994 (so it's 14 years old for those who don't wanna do some maths) Custom van der End electronics and preamp Alder / Ash sandwiched body Maple neck and fretboard Hipshot Ultralite hardware I've yet to have the nut replaced, because the current one is a bit too wide (after 14 years of use that's not too bad though)
2.
I had an e-mail from a dutch customer, and it said it came from "Fantasy Coons". Can someone translate it please because I feel really racist every time I laugh at them and probably wouldn't if I knew what it was.
http://www.fantasycoons.nl/ something with cats ?
3. translation: any dutchies up for something like the basschat gathering in the uk ?
4. Don't let the looks of these beasts fool you! they're mean and trace! Great price too!
5. As I see all ye scrubbers get together to try out sum wood of yer all I were wondering if any Dutch people would do a likewise thingie! (yup it's talk like a pirate day.. and I'm doing a poor attempt.. nonetheless... I r serious!)
6. basically just set up a tent and bring everything. just camp on stage
7. sounds great, looks great! Bargain for this money I'd say! I love that stevie wonder song btw
8. A small cab to monitor yourself is a great investment (Try a gallien-kruger?), something like the Microbass series. They have good DI's and aren't really big! Costs a bit but worth every penny! If they don't do DI but a jack into something... (which i'd doubt) you might want a signal splitter so you can still use your monitor.
9. I'd love to have this.. i think this could be pretty punkish
10.
i think, perhaps, he was talking about the g.Eq on the Laney?
o hey i remember! that was just for fun making an \/ eq for the pic
11. I would recommend trying out second hand options near you, bringing someone who knows (a bit more than you) about basses. Good brands to try out are yamaha, ibanez, Vintage, Squiers (especially the vintage squier) or cort. I know these are not the cheapest brands, but the best starters imho. as for an amp: try a peavy, or a small ashdown if you want to rehearse with them in a band context else try a london city or warwick blue cab (the 30 not being powerful for rehearsing)
12. oh it's not! right bottom is volume, the non dotted one is pickup selection and the above 2 are EQ but it's all passive so nothing too fancy.. i sold this bass btw (i could still cry about that.. it was my first) so i have no idea why it was set like that at that time!
13. I would love that as an EQ monitor.... just add an EQ underneath it and u can see where you might want to compensate!
14. I remember being able to get a similar sound out of my ash'n trace with my podx3... using a red comp (mxr dyna comp) simulation. i think you should try some gear out... if u ask me it's not the trace!
15. i just use nuendo (cubase-like). no editing done on bass like comp.. im pretty pleased with the sound!
16. i know but i'd like to hear some slapping on this (i can't slap to safe my life tbh ) but i agree: some times less is more!
17. but the porn sticker adds soem doesn't it ?
18. in the category punkbass it used to be a basscollection
19. I've sold some pickups to BigAlonBass while only being on this board for a really short while
20. I now expect something fancier I only play for 4 years
21.
good stuff, nice offer too, considering the last one on here went for £250 iirc man i miss mine..
yeah it's a good price, mine went for 280 poundish (350 euro's)
22. also a small playalong here have to say funk isn't really my style but i hope my attempt will do
