With Pat Metheny - I was knocked out with both. Then came the Jaco solo album next for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX2cPUs-ot0 Garry
He wrote the themes to both Letter from Iwo Jima and the other one of those two films for his dad, and they are pretty darned good film soundtracks as it goes...
Yep, both excellent. He is a very good Bassist, and likes his 60/70's [Cop theme] type grooves when on electric. Garry

the reason relationships and bands are a bad idea

Drop a bar, go to the bar, makes no difference.... Anything to do with bars will always cause a problem with some partners. Garry -
Oscar Pettiford. Love him on the Bud Powell album Live at the Essen jazz festival 1960. It's a classic.
That's a great album...... Garry
I was a regular in the Wapping days,
Me to...Awsome place - I think Barry the owner had a sister shop in LA, or some relationship with them. I always remember his Porsche being parked out side. Got myself a Wal 5 there in 1989. The pub around the corner [the name escapes me] was a nice little social gathering place. Garry
IMO, learning the lines to this song wont be a waste of time when it comes to playing jazz.
'I got Rhythm' and 'Autumn Leaves' are possibly a better starting point than Moondance. Two tunes that will get you tuned into hearing Jazz related form, 2/5/1's and chord structure, they do wonders for your Lug chops, very important in playing Jazz..[Along with some/ a lot theory of course] Some of the Jazz Twelve bars as well. Moondance is just a load of old humping about. As Bilbo said....Listen to shedloads. Garry

Most of the above, along with Paul Chambers and some of Ron Carters stuff. Check this out - 4 DB's sawing & Pizzing away !.... There is a 'real' Bass face going on with the Pizz player. Where did the sex or gigging thread go?
lowdown replied to waynepunkdude's topic in General Discussion
Ive had a few gigs that have led to sex,
Other way around for me.... I had sex that landed me a great gig..... A marriage and two kids.. Garry -
Great band , although i thought some of the early stuff was hit and miss, or as someone above said 'Album fillers'. Loved Sting when he started introducing the Middle Eastern influences into his writing. All three of the Police band were top writers, who all made the mark elsewhere with various stuff. Garry

Down load Reaper, and use it free for this task.[Very small download] If you get on with it, it's cheap to buy. Plenty of Youtube videos showing what you want, for your purpose. The pitching and time stretching is pretty accurate, and if you are not going very far % wise either side of A440 [as in your case] You will more than likely not hear the difference. [Of course most DAW's do this with ease thesedays] http://www.reaper.fm/download.php Garry
