My Italian cousin has just seen a large lady collecting her Horned Viking helmet and full metal bra, from Teatro Alla Scala, and then heading off in the direction of Milan Airport, to board a Cargo plane. She is on her way folks!
Ooh! Tic Tac bass heaven!
Yep, played by Miloslav "Ladi" Geisler. Quite a character and sideman, and very much part of the Kaempfert sound and style. Seems Tic Tac or similar was (also) called "Knackbass"....lol... Life and work. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladi_Geisler

For small ensemble Jazz (trios etc), or the older style Big Bands, My tendency is for UB (I like the dynamics/note decay better). Heavy Big Band Jazz/Latin/Groove styles, I like the attack and punch of the EB better. These days, in Jazz people don't sneer and spit, Although they might do if you don't know the changes and forms....lol.. I still see 'fakers' trying it on, hiding behind muddy indistinguishable sounds, thinking they are getting away with it. If you are turning up at Jazz blows, or want to get into regular Jazz gigs, spend some time learning a lot of the popular tunes used (great ear practise anyway), rather than worrying about UB vs EB warriors. It will set you up for moving onto more adventurous projects.
I was just listening and playing along to this a couple of days back. Love it
Yep, great track and solid Bass. Been reading that it was (the great) Session Bassist Russ Stableford playing on this. Funny enough the track I played before Mr Bloe, was this...Also Russ Stableford, and you can hear it. http://youtu.be/k3Fa4lOQfbA

Is it obsession? maybe. Which leads me to the question. Do you have back up partners as well...
Lowdown, I had forgotten the Parkinson Show theme, we used to play that as an "off" at the end of each set!
Did your band play some of the pub and club gigs in S/E, East London by any chance?

Very nice, Huw.
I'm using Audacity 2.0.6; it has a 'preview' button for each of the effects, and a multi-level 'Undo' (not sure how many...). Reaper is not designed to do the same task. If one wants a DAW, I'd recommend Reaper. If one only wants to edit audio, I'd recommend Audacity. There's no downside to trying both, and choosing on the perceived merits of each.
Now at version 2.1.0, with real time preview and VST support, I believe. http://audacityteam.org I am not an Audacity user, but it seems it will do the job for the OP. .

Film Composer James Horner was killed in an accident yesterday. Fitting to put one of his themes in this thread. http://youtu.be/9AN04imFDK8

Another two sites well worth a look (regarding orchestrating and composing/writing). http://tutsplus.com/authors/ryan-leach http://composerfocus.com/5-orchestration-lessons-from-john-williams-flight-to-neverland/
Really enjoyable tunes to play especially as the composition/arrangements were by people such as John Barry, Michel LeGrand, and Lalo Schifrin and recorded by top session players. I miss those days, playing 5 nights a week plus Sunday lunchtimes, how times have changed!
Indeed they have changed. I very much remember those gig schedules. Plus throw in the Monday lunch times 'Lovely Jubbly club', or packing up as quick as you could and go and do a gig in a late night hostess club in the West End...lol..

I am a sucker for Film and TV themes, literally 100's of CD's of the stuff. A rousing driving tune. http://youtu.be/XWXQUhBsUVM http://youtu.be/Je2fGzKiqRM A moving theme from a great TV series. http://youtu.be/7uTAIpU0sa0
Apparently her favourite line is "Get on with it!" in between songs.
That's not heckling, she is just giving good old fashion professional advice.

Is this of any use? or worth investigating? http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=381092 Only three reviews regarding the chipset, but all good. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Siig-NN-E20012-S2-SIIG-Firewire-PCI-E/dp/B000G6U8VY

This library is being sold at a silly price. You can download the free Kontakt player, so no need for a full Kontakt purchase. Just about every thing you need, if you want to get into Orchestral writing. (26 gig download). Plenty of articulations in the library, and the demos sound very versatile. One of my boys has gone for it, and is downloading at the moment. http://vstbuzz.com/deals/50-off-complete-orchestral-collection-by-peter-siedlaczek/?mc_cid=3e0dcc6f4e&mc_eid=f0d895808a

After watching some of that OP video, I am surprised all their hair hasn't fallen out, after a performance like that.
They make a lovely noise, at least when I'm not playing them
Lol..... Whenever I hear 'Noise' mentioned, it always reminds me of this quote. "The English may not like music, but they absolutely love the noise it makes" Sir Thomas Beecham.

I have always been in and out with OC's stuff. Some (a lot), I was right up there with, other material I was left dazed and confused. But no doubting, he was an outstanding talent. RIP

W8.1 user here. I just use the anti-virus that comes with W8 (Windows defender). When using my DAW, I just turn off (disable) my WiFi, turn off anti virus and firewall. If I need to update any music software Apps (rarely, and I wait to I need a bunch of stuff), I just turn it all on again (less than a minute to do). I have set windows updates to let me know when windows needs updating, and let me choose when and what to download (again this only happens when I am on-line). So when off-line, not much running in the background, other than essential windows stuff. I have read folks on here saying there is no need to turn it all off with Quadcore i7's. But I have VSL VE5 Pro running as a server, and it certainly all interfered with that.
