  2. Hello Nigel,

Nice little amp, someone offered me an Ampeg but haven't heard back. If this one is still available I'm interested. Thanks Peter

      Hi, thanks for your message.

Yes, the amp is still available - I only uploaded the ad yesterday.

If you would like it that would be great.

I'm happy to pack and ship to you or you could collect if not to far away.

      Where are you located?

Regards Ron (Nigel is my bass playing mate who sadly passed away last April).

Oh sorry Ron, I read the funeral threads sorry to hear it. I thought you were Nigel. Anyway, I'm still waiting for a response re Ampeg, if not heard then I'll get back to you. Thanks Peter

  3. Hi, before I electrocute myself I thought I ask a question.i bought a rack effect American version runs on 110 v and of course american plug. Would any step do n adaptor, UK to USA 230v -110 v work like this one thanks.
  4. I think cases are like car modifications.
  5. I think it's important to understand if there is a loss of hearing and/or loss of certain frequencies the final mix won't be perfect. I don't think I am ever happy with my mixes as I know what sounds almost good to me in reality may be a muddy mix. I've recently watched an engineer on you tube explaining a subwoofer. When you hear the bass coming out from the subwoofer, you turn the bass frequency down until you can barely hear it from the subwoofer. My music room is narrower than longer. I made corner bass traps in a shape of a toblerone from rockwool and bass trap panels for front and back wall, and side walls. There is a thread about it in BC. I don't think there is a correct answer as everyone hears differently, I often use a reference song which seems to help a lot.
  6. The answer is : wait.....wait.... Step drill bit... sorted
  7. Old thread but never ending hunt for that Steve Harris sound. Steve has used different rigs over the years, you can tell that each album has slightly different frequency range. Piece of mind is particularly nasally sounding, whilst SIT and SSOASS has contour and bright. I recently added vintage setting on my bass combo for TNOTB sound.
  8. I played quite a few amateur gigs as a teenager in a metal scene in 80's and 89's. Maybe in 80' and 90's, but now, no thanks. As mentioned above being a full time Vs famous? I would opt for the latter. Unfortunately, thanks to AI , I'd say good luck to everyone. It won't be long before you have a hologram band playing in pubs. I can't wait to see one playing locally tbh. Can you imagine a drunk punter interacting with a hologram?
  9. My only concern is, what do they do with the returned products, resale? I know Amazon tends to bin some perfectly new returned item.
  10. I'd get Tech21 Steve Harris Sig to see if it's as good as the reviews say. Wish shops let you take one home for a week and try?
  11. I bought fender flats and they had zing. They don't last as long as rounds tbh, but I play finger style and with correct amp settings I get the tone I need. I recently boiled my flats and they regained the zinginess. Horses for courses.
  12. Get a drum machine, problem solved
  13. You boys are putting ideas in my head. Setlist Bring your daughter to the slaughter Reign in Blood Hair of the dog Eat the Rich Rock Candy The crab song Hungry Freaks, Daddy Cherry Pie Inhumane Harvest
  14. Not sure people going Sunday lunch would like listening to Metal
  15. The type of music I like mate, and the time they start is mostly at 9pm. There are occasions bands play afternoon gigs at festivals etc and being home at 7pm would be ideal. Probably more opportunities over the pond.
  16. Who, the grumpy gits?
  17. Apart from a fe grumpy gits 😁...only kidding.... fantastic forum, I found out that a bass actually has tuners not just string...
  18. I recently removed all the strings, boiled them for 10 minutes, cleaned the fretboard with lemon oil then restrung. Bass had no tension on neck overnight, did I worry? Nope. Works fine .
  19. I haven't gigged since about 1992, I got back to bass playing in 2010 and thanks to BC I've learnt how to produce music etc. I am reluctant to get gigging for two reasons. Too many day dreamers on Join my band and other sites. Two, I can't think of anything worse than being sober and playing to drunk punters late night. But , if circumstances change, I may be easily persuaded.

  22. What a shame , a brilliant picture, but will have to leave this one out, not enough time in a day. Unless a 30 seconds intro I started would suffice. Rather than watching rubbish on telly or having an early night, here we go. Song called Baby Boom. EZ drums, various VST`s and heavily processed robotic singing. The song is about a family swapping a country side life for a rat race concrete build city. Lyrics: I was born through baby boom My life’s been like a hot air balloon My folks swapped our farm for a city Reflecting upon with a pity We swapped our land for a concrete field The rat race life's like a time machine I asked my mother why did we this She said my son, Ich liebe dich Rusted minds have frozen thoughts Our lives became a big fat nought You've dragged me to this so-called Wonderland I can't escape to motherland Baby boom You're living as a Baby boom Baby boom You're struggling as a Baby boom Baby boom You'll soon die as a Baby boom Baby boom Baby boom
  23. @linear resolved the audio issue. Both a small Xenyx 8 channel mixer, then in OBS clicked the audio source as mono, tested today and works fine. Now I've been having issues with green screen/.chroma key set up 😁 works but looks like more than watermark effect. Thanks for your help in above posts
