  1. Yep I suppose what puts the pickup in the 'standard' position is distance from the 12th fret to the pole pieces?
  2. AFAIK the Precision didn't get the 3-bolt/micro-tilt ever. I could well be wrong, but Bass-wise I think it was only ever on mid-late 70's Jazzes.... Oh and as for this sale thread, nice Bass! GLWTS!
  3. I think the P pickup placement in a straight P vs. most modern (certainly Fender) P/J's is the same, so for the most part, if you get a PJ, you can still have a straight P as well, just by turning down the J pup.. Regarding the roadworn Precision (I have one, Fender not Limelight), what you get with those is a Bass that somehow feels 'played in', I've recently given mine a bit of TLC, by adding a tug bar and a bridge ashtray, along with a set of TI flatwounds, and at the moment I can't put the thing down. I know there are other Roadworn owners, Marc S for one, who'll be along to sing the praises too. Hope this helps!
  4. Not at all, good question, Yes the tuners and tree are on it, but no neck screws included, I re-used those..
  5. 'Nice amp for a small gig or practice room' Hmmm, I'd wager that lot would do you fine for most pub/club gigs without any issues at all. What a Bargain.
  6. For Sale here is the Neck from a 2001 Made in Indonesia Squier 'Standard' PJ Bass. Maple Neck / Rosewood fingerboard. Frets are virtually unplayed, very little/no wear to speak of. Nut width 38mm or Jazz / 'A' width. Truss Rod works fine. £65 gets it delivered to your door in the UK. Pics:
  7. I had the same problem as the OP, and I've been on Dunlop Superbright Nickels 45-105 ever since. Very nice low tension. The only strings I've got an any Bass are TI Flats on my Roadworn P Bass, but they're Low tension too.
  8. Yep the nut width on the Nate Mendel is 41mm I think, in between Jazz (38mm) and Precision (42mm). Definitely worth a look..
  9. Thanks MBA, it was an Indonesian made 2001 Squier 'standard' PJ. I got a lovely MIJ precision neck for it. By the time I finish with it, all that'll be original is the Body itself.
  10. Go on then, have a price drop. Now £1999.
  11. cor blimey guvnor.
  12. 3rd kit I've bought from John, this time for a PJ w/side jack. Also has series-parallel switch, Winner! Great kits, the man is an artist! Cheers John!
  13. Here you go matey
  14. Osiris is right, the pedal is better than the built in on the RH amps, and you can do an awful lot more with it. I don't hear any colouring in the setting I use. Dan Veall did an excellent video review of it on guitar interactive. Worth a watch..
  15. +1 for the spectracomp here too Matt, like you said it's on the Rh750, I've also got it on my backup BH250, and I've got it as a separate pedal too..I just use it in it's 'out of the box' setting, and it's great as it is. From 0 up to midday, you get fattening and some control of dynamics, then past midday you get more limiting.
  16. Indeed Marc, it's exactly between the Fender A (38mm) and B (42mm) neck. I did drool a little when I saw this but then realised the nut would be too small for me. But, it'll be a superb Bass for someone, and like has already been said, won't be around for long, get it while it's hot folks!
  17. Stunning WoT.
  18. Hmmmm I wonder Matt...only if certain boxes are ticked! Probably!
  19. Cheers, I don't know unfortunately.... I did think it could be solved easily on the E/A string by using screws designed for D/G saddles, which are usually longer....... Still not sure how to tackle the D/G though......
