  1. Poor Doug, would have had the 'Stones gig if it wasn't for Vernon. Looks like he hasn't borne a grudge.
  2. Like what you did there 😉
  3. Mine started after I was pushed off a wall when I was 12. Getting into heavy metal when I was 14 probably didn't help 😈
  4. Disagree, IME that's the worst thing to do. The advice I got from an audiologist was to concentrate on it, and listen to it, and eventually your brain reaches a point where it tunes it out automatically. For me this has worked, and it is so much better than it used to be to the point that I can now ignore it. I always wanted to tune it, so that it was a specific pitch and useful for tuning. Never happened though 😆
  5. "Critics say bluntly, “Well, nobody’s forcing them”. But test that logic and there is simply no Glastonbury any more. “Unsustainable” is a word used a lot in private. '
  6. In reply to the OP, yup! 😁 I'm in the 'I buy 'em to play 'em' camp.
  7. I'd love to play it, but I've got no interest in being a punter.
  8. I'm looking for the same thing in that London.
  9. Absolutely this! 😁
  10. Hope your insurance covers what you need 🤞🏼
  11. 01:29 Pete (where's the book Pete?) tries for his first windmill and ends up twatting the overhead drum mic 🤣
  12. Last night was a spin off from the originals band. We're doing Postmodern Jukebox style stuff. Just upright bass, guitar, drums and vox, so we're arranging things differently as we haven't got the orchestration. It's good fun and was sounding great. Certain songs I need to be warmed up for, as walking bass lines on the upright can take their toll 😆
  13. Not sure what point you think you are making 🤔
  14. Do you think that has been flagged? Could I now be on a watchlist?
  15. Google IRA bomb attacks in London. We don't have to imagine anything.
  16. What with the depletion of natural resources, pollution and climate change, there probably won't be many more future generations so we've got nothing to worry about 🙃🙃🙃
  17. This version is from one of my favourite albums, but Bela Fleck did a Bluegrass version, and there's always the original Chick Corea version (with no guitar 😱)
  18. Me too at college. Couldn't play it now! 😆
  19. More of the same. I'm learning them on the upright. Damn but those guys are good! We're doing it with just vox, bass, guitar, and reduced drum kit, so don't have the orchestration which means we have to do our own versions. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible so long as they sound good, so my walking bass lines are mostly arpeggios or chromatic.
  20. Are you sure? £7 in 1976 is £47.02 today!
  21. And probably not for The Shamen as well 😉
  22. Love a C extension (3 of my basses have D extensions). Despite them being required by many orchestras (try playing Mahler 3 without one!) that's the first one I've seen in the wild 😎
