Last night Royal Blues @ The Spice of Life, Soho, that London. Decent size stage with backline provided, so nice to be able to hear myself for a change 😆 One of our backing vocalists is away, which makes a difference as we usually have 3 part harmonies going on. But we were told it sounded good FOH. Multi band line up, with the bands having nothing musically in common, but we brought a few people and apparently it was sold out. Didn't get time to take an office pic, it was a line check during changeover then on. There were plenty of pics taken by the punters, I'll post some when I get them. Gear: Ibanez UB804 (EUB) - Swift wireless - Fender Rumble combo (supplied backline) & Korg clip on tuner. Footwear: black leather brothel creepers with white interlace.

Like most of us I've been through a few distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedals, but its my Flattley Poison Ivy bass fuzz pedal that works for me. The blend was the reason I bought it.

Judicious use of Fuzz pedals with blend controls can help to fill the sonic space.

Happy Jack was selling something similar a while ago. A distortion pedal that can add 4ths and 5ths.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the Squier Classic Vibe 50s Precision Bass uses 18% nickel-silver fret wire. It's actually a copper alloy with nickel added for hardness, so unless you're happy with your bass sounding like a dull thud, it will be a long while before you have to worry about rounds causing enough fretwear to worry.

I'm back and forth on this. First I used the wireless, but as my EUB is on a stand and not moving I thought it a bit pointless so went back to a lead. But then I went back to the wireless because it keeps the stage cable clear. Next, I left the wireless at home because I already take a lead as backup and it's just another item of equipment to take/carry...
