  2. Hayman 4040, purchased from discreet from off of here. Only thing Ive changed are the tuners to schallar ones, as one of the originals slipped. Everything works as it should.Im sure if you do a search you'll find all the details of the rebuild by the bass doc and discreet's far superior pics. Will be posted out in an old fender style case, plus cardboard.
  3. I bought a rickenbacker from a smoke free house, but it absolutely stank and was sticky with nicotine (ebay) I left it in its case for a couple of weeks with a couple of onions cut in half. That and giving the neck a good wipe down and the smell was gone in next to no time.
  4. This is great as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAGOS6qasS8

  10. I had an allparts neck once, hardly used it but the frets wore more than my at the time 20 year old jap fender. Glad to say neither of my limelights have this issue.
  11. My old 1990 Jap 60's re issue, also had the brass strips under the pick up's. They should have earth wires soldered to them ?
  12. Pair of EMG HB pick ups and wiring, four pots, input jack and toggle selector, taken off modified Greco Faker. Cant vouch if the pots are original emg pots etc.But where working when removed from bass. possible trade for di marzio model J pick ups.
  13. Sold a set of emg Jv pick ups to Andrew, prompt payement and good communication.
  14. As new complete with push/pull connection wiring loom, £70 posted uk mainland. Pics if needed.
  15. Hey guys, just a quick update here. Had a get together with a friend who also has a jazz bass and he allowed me to temporarily borrow his pickups and control plate to do a bit of troubleshooting. Trying his control plate with my pickups darkened it up ever so slightly so it might partially be the 250k/500k issue, I also used his quarter pounder set with both control setups, and in the end my bass with the electronics of his sounded pretty monstrous. So now I'm going to purchase myself some 250k pots, a set of SD QP's, and I'm probably going to add a series/parallel switch into the mix also (I figure I'm redoing the thing anyway I might as well have a few more options). Somebody mentioned getting a "loom" from kiogon, Is he a member here? and, if so, How would I get in touch with him? Pretty much did everything you've mentioned above with an American standard Jazz I had, other than fitting SD's I fitted model J di marzios. Everything was still to bright. Flatwounds are a cheap option. Just put kiogans name in the search toolbar and send him a PM
