3. "I guess I like the idea of a relaxed attitude, but in practice I'm a control freak who likes things to be as good as possible." no offense intended 4 string thing but just a thought from experience sometimes control freaks need to be wound up 'So, after a few years of looking, I've finally managed to find a couple of like-minded souls" "Problem is, the guitarist/singer! He can play well, sings ok but is really casual and amateurish" ideally you need an amazing guitarist that's a great singer and is an excellent frontman and isn't a complete 2@ yeah good luck then how many more years is it going to take to find one of them if you want my advice don't listen to any advice on here we don't know you or your singer make contact with people who he has played with before take their advice they know him the best way to avoid a train wreck don't get on if you know it's going to crash if you just think it might crash you'll never get on a train if you get on get yourself prepared sit at the back and watch the one at the front take the full force
4. bought 2 pedals from luke, good communication and both turned up as described all good here thanks luke
5. will take the digitech synth wah off you and the muff if still available where are you based
6. £11,000 for a bass isn't a lot really https://fodera.com/anthony-jackson-presentation-ii/ according to fodera's price list £35,000. if someone wants to pay those sort of prices for a bass good on em. and without a hint of sarcasm, i hope it gives them everything they want and more. a fodera take about a year to make a custom bass, and have been in operation since 1983, so they are hardly a prolific maker the fender precision has been being made for about twice as long, don't take anywhere near as long to make, and are made in america, mexico and japan, so not particularly uncommon. my guess is that there are vastly more precisions than fodera's in existence. curiously just looked on the first page of the basses for sale, there are 4 precisions for sale and 2 fodera's. seems a bit out of proportion.
7. the universal adaptor works fine, though i think i will get a tc electronic powerplug before next gig. http://www.andertons.co.uk/power-supplies/cid591/power-supplies.asp#1428700275892page-1 can't be doing with batteries, tried the daisy chain thing once was too noisy. the voodoo labs pedal power 2 plus only goes up to 250ma and those are only 9v so wouldn't be any good the cioks schizophrenic does pretty much the same but was about half the price of the voodoo labs, and I've not had any problem with it, typically they have brought out a new version, which would be able to power the nova drive. thanks to you all for your input
8. Da Dood did do, do deedileee-doodileee bought dan's tc nova drive couldn't have been easier, absolute pleasure to deal with. a big fan queue
9. That's what I thought better be safe than sorry though thanks icastle
10. Hi all. bought a tc nova drive pedal on the for sale forum. Didn't come with a power supply, not complaining it didn't say it did. Would have used my cioks schizophrenic to power it anyway if I could. The cioks will only power 75ma, novadrive requires 12v DC 380mA centre negative plug. I have old jhS universal power adaptor, switchable voltage and polarity Which is 500mA 6VA Max no mention whether ac/dc or DC The nova drive has digital switching, I guess it would be safe to use. But don't want to risk frying it, is it safe ?
11. are there definitely battens behind or is the plasterboard dot and dabbed personally i would use these http://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/frame-hammer-fixings/cat840010 the screw in ones linked above are ok but if the plasterboard gives out which it can you potentially have broken bass and a big hole in the wall what steve k said, if your confident you can do it, do it. if you want to be successful at diy, you need to know when to say no.
12. must say i have thoroughly enjoyed this thread
8...9...10 and he's banned have you really banned santa ?

You sound awfully familiar, have you ever been to England? EDIT: Oh, and the Iranian IP address you're using isn't a particularly good disguise.
is he really ayatollah ad homine the picture in his first post was bugging me, went back and looked again i knew it wasn't peter hook, whale oil beef hooked ! it's a right handed paul mccartney finally proof that the dead one exists ? or not. ha ha got it now. 'You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat.' cheeky b@*^3&d i would just like to say it is perfectly ok, for vegetarians to eat pudding
13. Hi dan. Have played on the back of a truck, with a generator, fortunately not moving. If the carnival has been going for some time, without killing anyone. I'm sure the people running it know what they are doing. If billy bodgit chucks it onboard 10 minutes before, and you all got electrocuted. Could he go to prison, Yes quite possibly, along with the organiser. I'm sure the least they will have, is barriers around edge to stop you falling off. The thing we found is the fumes from the generator, can get quite nauseous. Though it's possible it could have been worse, because we were stationary. It may well be that they will have generator screened off. Have a chat with the organiser beforehand, to see how it all works. If they want you to wear a harness, or something similar for example. It's better to know now, rather than 5 minutes before you start playing.
14. Someone recommended I check out royal blood middle of last year I liked them. Did start to wonder why all the gigs on YouTube always consisted of the same songs, got the album anyway Some of the album tracks ain't as good as the singles I saw them in Newport too, the drums sounded really good In all honesty if there was a secret guitarist back stage They would have sounded better than they did The octave up stuff through the guitar amps, the distortion wasn't the best, And it overpowered the low end the drummer going for walkabouts, pointing at the singer like hes some sort of god, was taking the piss a bit. I still like them a lot, and think the singles are great but in all honesty I regretfully have to say my first experience of them live left me underwhelmed Look forward to seeing them again in the future in a smaller venue
15. My first purchase on basschat, Deal couldn't have gone better. 4 pages of positive feedback says it all. Paid deposit met up a few days later I now own lozz's old precision bass lozz is as genuine as they come and a top bloke to deal with. Buy with complete confidence
16. Having looked on internet the general consensus seems to be short scale not good for drop tuning. If I had plenty of spare cash I would have it anyway. Can imagine it being gert lush to play. If you can't send to possible buyer I may have it of you at a later date though doubt it will still be around. best of luck with sale
17. The band I play in tune a semitone down, a few songs in drop D So the E string would need to be able to go to C# Would the shorter scale cope, or would it be flappier than a flappy thing ?
18. hi raslee where abouts in devon are you will send pm
