  5. Er, dry solder joint, or, power supply, thinking smoothing capacitors, is it valve or s/state, don't stick yer fingers in for a fiddle if it's valve, they run at nutty levels of volts, 1200/1500 volts, doesn't just dissipate after turn off either. Have you tried a different instrument? , different lead ?
  6. Damn !, now iv'e missed either being offended or the chance to be offensive, good looking bass though, i have a 2012 jap built Fender jobby.
  7. It only weighs just over 5 stone, not really a problem, 300 little watt-lets, gets so hot you could cook on it I reckon, er, that might be why I have a Ashdown all valve 100 watt-er, I can get to the car with the small one.
  8. Does my Silhouette six count, strung E to E with flatwounds?
  9. Well done that man, i put the ten mill hole in, but then use a sewing machine to sew criss-crossed either side of that hole so it cant spread, i like the thread lock idea, thanks people.

    MATAMP

Just a snippet of info, popped in to see me old mate Jeff, owner of Matamp, and found him manically moving stuff around in the works, making space for a magnetizer he's bought, proceeds to tell me he's going into the manufacture of speaker driver units, don't know yet if that includes bass cabs, it's early days yet.
  11. Aye, works for me, how about The Twelve Bar Blues band doing Claptons '' Old Love '', they're good live too.
  12. Indeed sir, that very one, your going to tell me next that Chowny don't market a lined but fretless model
  13. Ah, big country on Radio2 as we speak
  14. Ah, ok, nothing to do with this site in a financial sense, Ta
  15. Mmm ?, so is that lined and fretless like the one I missed,
  16. Great, just need to rob a smaller bank !, as a matter of enthusiastic interest, how do folk pay for things through this site ?
  17. I need to rob a bank !!!!
  18. Ooh !, always wanted to learn how to play a knife-block, maybe one day, still wish I'd bought that lined and fretless b stock chowney, got any more iffy short scales around ?

  20. Excellent, all sorted.
  21. Damn, too late was the cry !!!!
  22. That was my best shot, sorry.
  23. I'm part way through learning this number, and I play along to this supposed tribute band, aren't they great !, some have commented that they are better than what's left of the original Chicago now.
  24. Yes, I take your point, but I've had one of these and didn't get on with it, interestingly nobody seems to have a good word for the short scale Gretsch, but thanks.
  25. Thanks for the lesson, excellent !
