1.
Plus any song by Tool (Aenima (1996) -present) Si
That sound was literally what made me buy my first bass. Absolutely massive tone.
 2. I love D'addario strings, specifically 0.45 - .105 nickels and 0.45 - .100 on shortscales (just because they don't seem to do a .105). Great strings. I do like elixirs as well, but they are too pricey for me!
 3. Looks lovely. Might be worth using a different image host like imgur as these seem to want me to log into yahoo to see a larger version.
 4.
Oh and in the custom shop I felt this really light weight strat, it was crazy light, not sure if its out now or a future model! Also, the mexico factory isn't far from here, and they cannot make hardware (like pictured above), but apart from that have the same kind of machines apparently, and actually, everyone in Corona seemed Mexican anyway, haha.
I've always heard 'Made in Mexico by Mexicans, Made just across the border in the USA by the very same Mexicans" haha
 5.
What does IBTL mean?
In before the lock.
 6. Flats I will only change if a string snaps, but in my entire time playing I've only snapped a string twice I think. It really depends on which bass, my main player (what ever that happens to be at the time) gets changed every 2 months because I like bright strings, others probably every 4-6 months. I loosen the strings a little and pop them all off with snippers, give everything a good clean and oil any rosewood.
 7.
The satin looks good, sadly on mine it marked very easily. Wax polish fixed that and I really like the wax finish.
I think it's a really thin finish as well so I'm half expecting it to look relic'd in a couple of years. Finding some spots of the finish are turning gloss where there is more wear. Any chance of getting a picture of it with the wax finish? Been giving a bridge replacement a thought, can any one with a Babicz three-point bridge comment? I'm finding the floating three point kinda hurts my hand when I'm playing with a pick and muting, although I haven't had any issues with string height or intonation.
 8. I've got one of these beauties in chocolate brown. Fantastic bass, the playability is just incredible. I did have an issue with the neck pick-up rattling, but this was solved with some extra foam and a little card between the pick-up and cover. Anyway here's a pretty rubbish low-light picture I just took.
 9.
Now - could someone tell me why they would buy a Fodera at the price they go for? When I think of them I see sheiks buying gold plated Range Rovers. I just think "Really?!?!?!".....
I'm not with you on Wals, but I have to agree with this. Never understood Fodera basses, but then again I've never played or even seen one in person.
 10.
In that case 2 of my basses should sound exactly the same. They don't. Both have babicz bridges Both have the same Fender original 62 pbass pick up Both are passive - even wired using the same pots, wire and jack. They both wear the same strings at the same gauge. So you are saying they should sound exactly the same? Far from it. One has a Status neck, the other a maple and rosewood neck and they sound very very different from each other.
I would have thought tolerances in manufacturing of pick-ups, pots and caps would make a fairly big difference. I can't remember the numbers but the usual tolerance for pick-up winds, pots and caps is fairly high.
 11.
We've seen this character's handiwork before, of course.
Same chap responsible for the infamous mouldburst? I do love how the wear realistic simulates the classic 'all around' finger placement around the bridge pick up.
 12.
There could also, perhaps, be a third category for instruments that have improved virtually beyond recognition for which I would nominate Squier as a shining example, although to be fair the entry level bass market as a whole is massively better than it was when I started playing 25 odd years ago.
I like it. Going to add it to the op. The Vintage Modified and Classic Vibes series are seriously fantastic. I've been gassing for a VM precision V for some time now.
 13. Saw this thread on reddit, thought it might be interesting to see what people thought about basses and bass gear. So the categories (so far!) are:

Brands that have maintained their quality level over the years
Brands that just don't have the quality they used to
Brands that have actually improved their quality from what they were known for
14.
I've had my eye on this for far too long; now is the time to 'gazump' me and take the temptation from me. One of my 'dream' instruments (I already have a Verithin bass and guitar, a Thinline and a 12-string guitar...), and nearly have the funds for this. Little time left, then, folks, to snap the beauty up. You have been warned. Buy it now, or for ever hold your peace.
Seriously how is this even still here....
 15. Does he just stick to tradition fender styles? I've been thinking about a precision with an old Thunderbird pick-up in the bridge for some time now. Maybe with a Jazz neck.... Talk about a Frankenbass!
 16.
Great amps, wouldn't be without mine.
Same here, absolutely fantastic pieces of kit.
 17. I will definitely be buying one of these when they become available (would rather wait to hear some reports before ordering). Nice little size looks perfect to sit on the desk for headphone playing and recording. Hoping the headphones sound great.
 18.
You buy something from any other website (apart from Amazon) and it can take weeks to turn up, and apparently this is quite acceptable.
I haven't had to wait weeks for anything to turn up from an online purchase for about 10 years, even ordering from the states usually takes no more than a couple of weeks. 2 or 3 days is fine, but 2+ weeks is too much to not be dispatching something, not acceptable in my book. There is a setting on your eBay account to show if you will be unable to dispatch an item for a while, unless the seller has gone on holiday there is no reason to not post something for 2 weeks.
 19. I wonder if it might be worth creating a shared google spreadsheet or something similar to post a list of these? Makes searching a serial number much quicker for people.
 20. There isn't really any excuse to do this. If you're posting something on eBay you should know when it's going to end and be ready to get it posted straight away. I've not sold much on eBay but always post it on the same or following day depending on when it ends. I'd get in touch with eBay if I were you, as Thunderbird said they are usually pretty decent and getting issues like this sorted.
 21. I've got one of these, fairly happy with it although it doesn't really give as much low end as I'd like. They are a lot of fun, especially when you crank up the gain and drive it. Driven valve tones without shaking your house down. I re-valved mine with a GT5751 and two NOS Sovtek EL84s (they come with cheap no name china valves) and it made quite a big difference.
 22. Does eBay not care if people report it? I have reported it and I'm sure a couple of others here have and it's still going!
