1. Probably not what your talking about but CafePress have some nice designs. music related Tee's EDIT: Just looked through that link and there doesnt seem to be many Bass related ones there. Ive got about 3 Bass Tee shirts in my wardrobe at home, the best one is the Orange/grey Bass chat one but ive not worn it much. Ped was selling them here a while ago, might be worth sending him a Pm if you fancy one.
 2. This isnt 100% like the record but probably good enough to get started with Learn to play Moondance
 3. I cant really comment on the differences wood etc make, certainly not with authority, but i do know that my Squier CV Jazz and HW-one Jazz sounded very, very different with the same pups and stings (literally). Ive also not really noticed much difference between the Squier HM bridge, the Fender vintage bridge and a Gotoh 201 bridge, tone wise, when i went through them on my Squier. I love the HM bridges for their looks but i wouldn't buy one to change the tone or sustain. With the rise in popularity that Squier are now getting with the CV and VM lines it just shows that you dont need to spend a fortune to get a decent "Fender".
 4.
Is this for the pc only or can it be installed onto our iPhones??
PC only but they do a version for the iphone as well. Its free, just like this one, but you can buy add ons like amps and FX. Im also a fan of the SVX version (and dont really use that much these days) so i don't really have a need for this version but its nice to get something decent for free, so you cant knock IKM.
 5. Great write up. You make it sound too easy. It sounds easier to install it than to use it lol.
 6. Looks really nice. Popping over to the other thread now but well done.
 7.
Before blowing £1000 on a precision make sure you try one of these: Classic Vibe It can't be overstated how wonderful these instruments are. I'll never buy another precision.
Same here. Had Lakland's and Fender's and while all good basses, and i suppose better looking, none of them play better or sound better than my CV P.
 8. No, it was my cock up. I was talking about the VLE but my reply was to the post about the VPF. The VPF boosts the very low freq and the high freq with a dip in the mids. The VLE attenuates everything above a certain fixed freq to emulate a vintage cab. After almost 5 years of using them you would think I would stop getting them mixed up. For what its worth i use a bit of both and find these to be more useful than the EQ most fo the time. I think a lot of MB owners do the same. I'll miss these two magic knobs when i sell the SA450 but luckily you can buy a MB pedal that has just these two filters on it :-)
 9. Just noticed this on the IK multimedia website. Looks pretty good. Although im using the Markbass software these days i think ill give this ago and see how it compares to the full version 3. Amplitube 3.5
 10.
TIP: If you keep the VPF filter off the tweeter does not come into play, so no need to disconnect it
And if you turn it up quite high isnt that supposed to give a more old skool tone by attenuating the top end to simulate an old cab.
 11.
HAHA I liked my Ashdown I hear you are thinking of selling your MB SA450 and going back to Ashdown. Do you have a suitable wooly jumper, Blue Peter style maybe or will you try the Val Doonican cardi this time
The only way i would go back to Ashdown was if i needed something to put my good amp on ;-) But yeah, selling the SA450 and getting a Streamliner 600 in the near future. Funny enough im also thinking of putting the Chromes on my CV P for a while if your not going to borrow them. seeing as my EXL's are pretty dead now i thought i might try flats again, for a few weeks at least.
 12. I went from a ABM300 EVOII to a MB SA450 (same cab) and couldn't believe the difference. I was like someone had lifted a blanket off my rig. That was 5 years ago and ive used MB ever since (other than a few gigs with a GK head). I do think im getting bored with the MB tone though. I know its not supposed to have one but i can hear it in any bass i put through it.
 13. Ive actually got the Bass Direct SL600 page open at the moment. Still want one but still not too sure i can afford it.
 14.
A couple of vids 'in the studio' filmed at The Joint rehearsal studio of me and my funk band Groove Digger Hope you dig 'em M
Not really my thing but yeah, i dug them. Nice and tight with a good groove.
 15.
I'm just amazed at how sensitive the amp was to the different strings, it really was like chalk and cheese. I've never had that before in any amp, combo, rig I have owned previously.
Well your Ashdown was probably hiding all the good stuff from you ;-)
 16. Ive got two and while they will hold my Jazz bass it sits at a slight angle. it feels secure enough but looks silly no stage.
 17. Glad your happier now Michael. And at no extra cost. As i said in my PM, I find strings can make a world of difference. I tend to keep to nickels these days as i feel they are warmer and have less clank.
 18. Replied.
 19. Michael. Ive got a set of Chromes (got them off Nick last year) sitting around. Your welcome to borrow them for a few weeks if you like.
 20.
Mmm, I have an Epi 210 and it's a killer cab - though if I had my way I'd trade it for 2 Genz 12s - but it's a monster 500 cab as it stands and it's more than enough for my needs right now. M
I had a UL212 and didnt really like it. It sounded nice enough but just didn't throw the sound out far enough. I sold that and got a 1212L and its a lot louder. The only 10" ive ever used is the one in my 1210R cab (which i dont use any more) but one day i would like to try a 210.
 21.
ITS HERE!!!! After nearly 5 months of waiting, i finally get my new bass OK, time to spill the beans, this obviously is a Sandberg California PM4 in matt blackburst.
Fantastic, well worth the wait (shame you had to though). One day ill get a Blackburst as well. Best looking finish i have ever seen. Cant wait for the follow up review. I would prefer a black PG on it though but thats just a personal thing. Soundclips maybe?
 22.
When I turned up the sound was very muddy and instead of pushing out a punchy tone, the overall boom just increased... not what you want on a gig!
Ive only had one MB cab but i hated it. it was one of the older 1x15 traveller cabs and no matter what i did i couldn't be much tone out of it. I had been using my MB heads with other cabs up to that point so i was well aware of what the head could put out. Maybe it was just the size of the cab. I ended up getting a Epifani UL115 and what a difference. Night and day. I tend to use my SA450 more or less flat, with a bit of VLE and VPF to suit but im beginning to think that maybe the MB tone is a bit boring and flat for me now.
 23.
I do know what you mean, I have one P with flats on, 1 with rounds. At home on my own I use rounds because it sounds good to me, but at a gig its flats all the way, they just really sit in our mix well.
Yeah, like i say ive used flats in the past, and still have a set of chromes that i know ill use again. I just find that it gives a certain tone that while it sits well in the mix, i miss the overtones you get with rounds. I do love the feel of flats though. I guess for Michael its worth a try. I find flats are great for getting rid of clank and fret buzz so maybe they will work.
 24.
I think the way forward is to try flats as a lot of replies here have been people with flats.
Personally i think flats are overrated. Ive never got the P + flats is a match made in heaven thing, even though i have used this combo a few times. Each to his/her own though. No offence to anyone who does use them, they just aren't for me.
 25.
stick a Sansamp between your bass and the Markbass, set the Sansamp to the SVT settings, and you will instantly be in P-sound heaven, whether for flats or rounds
+1 to that although i find having the Blend on about 25% enough for bringing my bass to life. Ive been using MB heads for about 5 years now and its only recently that i got a BDDI. I cant believe the difference it makes, especially when im using my P bass. I have had some great tones out of my MB heads without the BDDI though, but ive always felt the cab was colouring the tone, I'm now thinking that maybe the head is a bit more coloured than i thought. It gets the job done but i cant help think it works better with a Jazz than any P bass ive put through it. I also agree that the MB cabs are nothing special, although of course a lot of people like them. Michael. If you want to try a BDDI i have my Behringer BDI21 sitting around your welcome to borrow, works just as well.
