  1. Just a quick update. I’ve decided to the keep the GP-5. Now that I’ve actually looked in the manual i can see i can use it like a small board. Each block has a midi on/off number. And the fact that the Chocolate can also power it makes for a very small back up.
  2. Oh, ill probably try a ToneX one next, but not just yet.
  3. Well, ive had the GP-5 for a couple of days, and my thoughts are these. It’s small, really small, and heavy (in a good way). It feels and looks a lot more expensive. Sound wise, the amps are more open, i can live with these. I dont think the FX are much to write home about, certainly as far as the ones I’d want to use. They sound nice, but are very basic. The whole point of me getting a multi FX was to see if i can get a Phaser with a volume or level control. This doesn't even have a mix control in its phaser. This means im no better off pairing it with my MB3 than i am with the Blood moon phaser i have, which sounds much better than either of these pedals. The GP-5 is quite simple to operate, but it takes some forethought. I found it easier to use than the 60B+, but it’s not as versatile. I have a Chocolate plus coming, but i don’t think I’ll have an immediate need for it. It seems that i cant turn on and off individual blocks in the GP-5, which is exactly what i want to do. Like a mini pedalboard. The 60B+ is going back, and at this point i expect the GP-5 will, as its quite a distraction and i cant use it as i want, but as it cost so little im also inclined to keep it and see how i get on. Just a quick shot showing the two and how much of a size difference there is.
  4. I think it’s shaping up to be very not funny. the first one was a classic and completely original, but this one seems to be just flat. They seem to be doing the rounds and getting a lot of air time
  5. Thanks. Im just asking if i can turn the phaser block down so when it’s engaged i dont get a noticeable volume boost. i now know you cant.
  6. while I wait for the midi pedal, ive brought a Valeton GP-5. Totally different pedals but I want to give it a try as well. At least I know the midi pedal will work with either.
  7. I tried mine after you posted. Left them on for 30mins or so, but they didnt turn off or go to sleep as far as I can tell.
  8. Not me, but i lent them to the bass player in my other band (i play keys) for a gig. No issues. We use an XR18 and a 5GHZ router, but this never caused any interference. All other wireless gear is 2.4GHZ. He was just using a passive P.
  9. I love it. Ive not had any issues at all. Latency seems below what i can hear. Sound quality is as good as a cable (to my ears), and it's smaller than my other systems. They also seem to be better shielded than the Lekato's I have. No hum etc. Battery life seems really good. After a 4 hour rehearsal I can still get a couple of nights playing at home before charging, and charging is fast enough (no slower than anything else either have.) According to my charger each device charges at 2watts. Im only using them with a passive P bass and a Yamaha BB425. The 425 has quite a song output but it doesn't cause the system any issues. No idea what an active bass would do, but there is a setting for that which I guess reduces the input signal a bit.
  10. Yeah, there is a lot of variety in these pedals, but i just cant get the openness ive heard from others, inc my old HX stomp, just something missing from the top end. No sparkle, even if i boost it all. Playing along to music is fine, so im sure in a band situation I’ll never notice it.
  11. I get what you are saying, and funnily enough i also found the SWR to be favourable over the SVT that i wanted to use. Also the Markbass. Both seemed to have more life to them. I was aiming for a SVT rig sound though. I tried a few presets at first but wanted to create my own. Dont get me wrong, i really like most of what im hearing, its just to my ears using headphones there is something in the sound, every sound, that is putting me off. I noticed a lot of the presets have multiple EQ blocks, i thought that strange. I wont give up on it until ive used it with the band. I feel that’s where it will work better.
  12. I think we have too much choice. I really want a one pedal solution, but a cheap one, and a small one. Originally I was going to keep using my Microbass3, and add a multi FX like the 60+/Tonex one/HX one. That extra pedal would supply all the modulation/OD sounds. Id not need to run more than one FX at a time so it would be a nice set up. But then, the 60+ and Tonex One also have the amp sims, so in theory I don’t need the MB3, as they can do it all. Only of course there are always going to be something that stops this being a smooth ride. 60+ would be perfect if I loved the tone. Maybe I'll get used to it. ToneX one is more hassle to use. It seems like id have to keep certain patches in sync as id have to have the amp with one effect, then another patch with amp and a different effect. Any tweaks I do to the amp will need to be propagated across to the other versions. HX one doesn't do amps so it's back to a 2 pedal solution, but it does have my much loved BDDI, and the function to switch between two versions would mean normal and OD sounds are sorted. I could i suppose add a Phaser to that. I know the MB3 doesn't do amps either, but I find the tones it does are great, and having all the knobs available makes it easy to use.
  13. Thanks, that’s really kind of you. I’ve already ordered one and looking at what it can do i think I’ll make good use of it even if i dont keep the 60+ I’ve alao ordered a Tonex one to try as well. While the 60+ is more what im looking for, i cant help want to see how the Tonex sounds, and with the controller i think it stands a better chance of doing the job.
  14. Yeah, thanks. I got him to send me a photos and it doesn’t have that port. Ive ordered a Plus from AliExpress. Ive gotta give it a go before i send the 60+ back (if i do). Its one of those things that I’ll always think “did it work’ lol. I can always use it with my keyboards or other things anyway so dont mind too much.
  15. Thanks. I have a feeling it’s the standard one then. A mate has it and i could borrow it, although it’s a bit of hassle getting it.
  16. Do you know if the one that comes with a BT adapter will work? I can get hold of that quickly
  17. I think sometime its just my mood. Loved it before, now im hearing something else. Same headphones etc. I had the B1Four out during the week and could hear it on that, and it's less pronounced on the 60+, but I just cant get rid of it. When im playing along to music it's fine. If I didnt have the EBS sitting next to it (and hadn't spent over £300 on it in July) maybe id be more open to the 60+. Definitely going to give it a go with the band before I make any decisions. I was hoping to replace the EBS but I'll have to see.
  18. Yea, ive been looking at that. I think I would be fine with just using the pedals foot switches at the moment. I am struggling to get it to sound as open as my EBS. Im only using headphones and im sure through a rig it would sound fine, but I cant get away from hearing something like a blanket over everything. Ive tried various EQ adjustments, but it's always there. I'll have to wait until next weekend when I'll be rehearsing and see how it sounds through a rig. It will certainly do the job if I can get past this issue.
  19. No, that’s the thing i didn’t know i had to have.
  20. Oh well, the above plan has gone out of the window, seeing as my footswitch works with everything on the planet other than the MB60B+. 50/50 if ill keep it now.
  21. Thanks for posting that. When I had my first 60+ last year I wasn't aware/didnt cross my mind I oculus use a midi pedal. what put me off the 60+ is the fiddly way of tuning effects on and off. I already had a Boss FS-1 WL for keyboards and other things, but never thought it could more or less become a pedal board. Can't wait to try that over the weekend. I plan on using just one patch. Comp - Chorus - Phaser - OD - Amp (SVT). I'll possibly duplicate this and change the amp to maybe a Fliptop for more mellow stuff, and possibly change the FX's if needed. The foot switch only has 3 buttons, but that's perfect as I'll set them for blocks 2-4.
  22. I just got another one of these. Last year I was looking for a one pedal solution, and as much as I liked this pedal, it did cut it for me, at the time. Now im going for a 2 box solution. EBS Microbass 3 for preamp and tuner, plus comp, and one external box for everything else. This time around im going to use it as a phaser/Chorus/OD (mostly OD) in conjunction with my Microbass 3 for now. I looked at pretty much everything on the market, but couldnt find anything close to this for this task. Almost got the ToneX one, but it seems fiddly to go between the above effects without extra work. Same with the GP-5. Thought about the HX One but again, seems fiddly. I dont need much, but what little I do want only seems to be in the MS60-B+. I think the MS60 will also work well for headphone practice, as I will get back the IR/cab sim feature. Maybe at some point I will sell the MB3, but I like the ability to adjust EQ settings with real knobs.
  23. Haha. Been there plenty of times. One of my guitarists must have 3-4 drive type pedals on his board. When they are all off it sounds great, but when he engages any of them it all goes to pot. But still he asks which combination we prefer 😁
  24. Ooops. That will teach me not to go on line while the boss is around 😎
