  1. As a long term BDDI user ive recently gone over to a EBS MB 3 as well. It's like a breath of fresh air after all those years of using a much more coloured sound. Not sure I'll keep it though, as I do miss a few things ive had on other pedals. Might be going back to the Nux MLD preamp. As to the OP's question, I think the EBS has hardly any of the requirements. No on/off (its on all the time, although it does have a mute), no level control for DI at all, no IR, PSU only, Not very 'vintage', but that's subjective I guess. Ive been on a quest find something pretty close to what the OP is asking, and ended up finding it just doesn't exist.
  2. The Pirate studios we use have CCTV in every room, as well as the kitchen/Toilet areas. So we assume things are monitored.
  3. Just about to order one of these. I had the Helix a few years ago and loved it, but I only need a phaser for a couple of parts now and this seems the best deal. The question is, does the tone change much when it's engaged? I realise it will change a bit, but ive had a few Phasers than have boosted the low end too much when turned on.
  4. Ive bene using a set of Lekato WS90’s for a while now. single is clear and ive never had any dropouts. A week or so ago i brought an Ampeg SGT-DI. I noticed that when the preamp was not engaged, but the IR was on, i was getting a lot of horrible noise. This was when using the WS90. My Xvive and cables were fine with it. I send it back. This week i got a EBS Microbass 3, and although i have no issues with it, i get a loud hum if i put my hand near, or worse, on, the WS90 when its off but plugged in to the EBS. When the WS90 is on it’s fine. It’s like when you have a cable thats not attached to anything at the other end. Cant figure out why this happens when it’s off and im close to it. Poor shielding is the only thing that comes to mind.
  5. Looking at the iPad version it seems that the link buttons runs almost the whole length of the bottom part of the box. This area seems to be the active area on desktop, even though there is noting to indicate this.
  6. On my Mac's (Safari) there seems to be no indication where the text box ends and the area to select a file to upload begins. I can sort of tell, but the background seems to be the same as the text box, with no divider. A few times ive click a bit too low and the window opens up. I can see the curser change from text to an arrow, but personally id like to see a divider separating the two areas.
  7. Oooh,now there's something ive not experienced yet 😀
  8. My wife's also did that. Got them replaced and the second set has been fine so far.
  9. I ended up sending the second Nux back and got the EBS microbass 3. It’s like the Nux on steroids. I had the Ampeg SGT—DI for about 30mins and hated it ( i wasn’t looking specifically for an ampeg tone, i just felt i needed top try it as i love the BDDI so much). For me it sounded too coloured compared to the Nux, plus i had interference issue, but the EBS hits all the spots other than battery powered.
  10. Got the EBS earlier and just had a play. Im impressed, especially as I didn't get on with the Ampeg SGT-DI I had for 30mins. I don’t really need the IR loader now but as its ordered ill see what its like.
  11. Thanks. It's worth a go. Im ok with anything under 5ms latency. The whole point of me going this route rather than using an Amp sim on Mac is to make things easier to just pick the bass up and play. Otherwise I have all the amps and IR's I could possibly need on the Mac, with a latency of around 3ms.
  12. Thanks. I must admit until i got the Nux i too never got on with IR’s. Even when i had my Stomp i couldn’t use them. This is partly why i wanted to get a dirt cheap one. Nothing lost if i doesn't work for me. Could be the EBS will be fine without it anyway, it’s arriving today.
  13. Ah cool, thanks very much. Will hit buy now. 👍🏻
  14. Thanks. That looks quite cool. Ive not seen that one before. Ali Express has it for £22.50 so I’ll take a punt on that. I like the idea of not needing an app for the HPF/LPF, although i also think the app looks quite good. Those are the only control's id need. I’ll order one now. Good call. EDIT: Maybe not, it looks like it’s powered from the computer. is that right? I dont want it connected as a USDB device (other than to load IR’s). Ive had hum/noise and all sorts when ive used other gear like this. for me it has to be a PSU.
  15. A rather long winded workaround is to split the stems of the tracks, so you can isolate the bass. Either try and learn note for note, or find a DAW that can turn the audio in to midi notes and use those to work things out.
  16. Thanks. I should clarify that it’s just going to sit between the EBS and my computer interface. I’ll take the headphone feed off the interface so no need for any headphone socket etc, although obviously i can just ignore that part. Also needs to be mains powered so i dont have to unplug anything when not using it. I see that NUX do one called Pulse. A bit more than i was hoping to pay but as i already love the IR’s in the MLD maybe that one will be better.
  17. Any suggestions? Ive seen the Sonicake IR loader and it looks good, but wondered if anyone has any other recommendations in this price range. £50 max I guess. It's purely for headphone practice at home, will never leave the house. Not even fussed about what it has in it etc, I just need to get that cab feel. Ive been using a Nux MLD preamp and got hooked on IR's, although I turn the IR off when using it with the band.
  18. The best singer BS ever had, sitting next to Ozzy.....

  20. Well, i went and brought one new, and glad i did. 15mins later its boxed up and going back. Maybe i don’t understand what the Ampeg sound is, but i couldn't really get a tone i liked as much as the Nux. But thats not the deal breaker. What is was the fact that with the Preamp and SGT bypassed, and IR on (any IR), and my Lekato 5.8Ghz wireless plugged in, i was getting a lot of digital interference/noise. A huge amount. Used with a cable or even my old Xvive 2,4 system it was fine. Tried different PUS’s and in different rooms. This was on all outputs, even headphones. I think in the real world its not a problem id never not have the Preamp engaged, but at this price thats too big a ‘niggle’, especially as im not over the moon with the tone either. Might try the EBS Microbass 3 next, but it seems the Nux may well be around for a while.
  21. Gong. Just once at the very end of the song is fine, anywhere else is overplaying.....😇
  22. Yeah i did go and look eariler. Good price, i wouldn't hesitate other than i have a knack of buying things and sending them back. 2 things are holding me back. Size and gain got get rid of the Nux, that ive brought twice in the past 6 weeks. The size thing isnt really a deal breaker, but the pockets on my Bass bag are pretty full. The Nux sits nicely in the headstock pocket. I can see the SGT wouldn't fit in there. This could well be GAS that goes wrong. I’ll keep you in mind though.
  23. Thanks. Ive since made my mate actually try it and he now confirms I was right. Very tempted to get one.
  24. Odd that the ad doesn't mention new strings and a "pro setup'. That normally add's a lot to the value....apparently 😂
  25. Thanks for the replies. Im really only asking if the SVT/B-15 switch does anything with the SGT switch off, but good to get some real world impressions.
