  1. I did consider that, and like the idea of having a battery indicator, but i felt it looked a bit big and would stand out more.
  2. Just looking at the specs again, and it seems both are rated at 100ft, at least according to LEKATO themselves. I think Amazon made a typo as they state 100 meters, which is a crazy distance.
  3. I just went to plug my WS90 in and was surprised its USB-C, not micro USB. So i guess then could and did do it. I do like the ideal of switchable channels. That was what put me off their IEM system. I guess being in the 5.8 band its not so much an issue at the moment.
  4. Cool. Im sure my Xvive would be fine, but i like the idea of standing more chance of not having issues.
  5. Cheers. Will do. They look ugly and cheap to me but as long as they work, thats really all that counts.
  6. I’m more concerned about 4 hour rehearsals rather than gigs at this stage. I always do charge things up before leaving the house, but i prefer to have a good bit of headroom if i can. I’ve worked hard to get my band to use things like IEM's, and still not quite there yet. Looks like with the new band I’ll have a much harder time convincing them, but i accept the challenge. Im hoping i can at least use my system somehow. Time will tell.
  7. Ah cool. I was just going by the spec on Amazon. It thought i read both were 8 hours. i too will be pretty much right next to an amp so its more to stop treading on cables rather than to go walkabout. EDIT. I can see now the WS50 is rated 5 hours. That would worry me slightly so I’ll stick with the 90.
  8. Cheers. I did purchase that first, it’s £42 at the moment, but then saw that the WS90 had a bit less latency. Just wondering what else is different. Got the 90 coming tomorrow but i know i wouldn’t notice the latency from either. i dont plan on using anything between the bass and amp (famous last words lol). At least not until i get settled. Picked the bass up for the first time last night since 2020.
  9. Sorry about the thread resurrection. Thought this the best place to get info. I’ve just joined a band playing bass, and although i still have my Xvive system i see now there are plenty of 5.8 systems out. As I’ll be rehearsing at a rehearsal complex with loads of other bands close by i figure a new guitar system is going to cause less hassle. I’ve discounted the Nux for now, purely on price and that i dont know what will happen in the near future. Might get it down the line (or if the Lekato doesnt work out this weekend). I’ve looked at the Lekato systems on Amazon and see there is a WS50 and a WS90. To me it looks like the WS90 has less latency, but is there any other differences (other than it’s uglier). Cheers. It’s good be back with Bass GAS. Keyboard GAS is crippling lol.
  10. Pretty much exactly how i use my XR18. Set up the plate reverb last year and i only ever touch the levels every now and then if someone gets a bit ‘shouty’ and drives it harder. We have one set up for FOH, and another for the IEM/Aux so they can have a bit more or less without messing with FOH. I do also have a delay set up, and i manuly raise the level to where it blends in well for one ro two songs. We tend to use the XR18 all the time, even when we rehearse so it gives me a good chance of getting things where they need to be.
  11. Just a quick update. I used the H4n Pro last night at a rehearsal. Same place i used the H4e. 2 things. First off, there was way more of the rumble in the recordings that i complained about before. New stand, new recorder. I do have it figured out now. It seems that one of the guitarists has a large floor fan and has started using it behind him rather in front. so now it blows across the room. I only realised this as my singer had to ask him to turn it down as she was getting blasted. This must be the cause. Second, although the recording came out well, and the levels were quite low so never peaked, its all clipped. Im not sure i can hear it, but i can see it in Logic. This was confusing as i even had the limiter on, just in case (i hadn’t used this before so wasnt sure how to set the levels). After some searching no YT, it seems that when recording with the level set to 2 or lower (i was at just under 1, although in hindsight i could have gone to 2), the signal does clip. So it’s normal, and obviously not a big deal to most people. I think I’ll try and return it or sell it and go back to the H4e. Seems like it wasnt faulty after all and was more convenient to use.
  12. Oh, i didnt know we had this thread. I almost got a CK61 earlier this month. In fact i ordered it 3 times but each time canceled the order as i just cant decide. Its not the CK61, i know ill really like it, i love my MODX so im used to the Yamaha way of doing things and how they sound, but it would need to replace my Fantom 06, and while im sure it can, it just seemed like a lot of hard work making the switch. I love the idea of the 9 drawbars, the fact that it sounds like the Reface, and the much more usable pianos. Im sure I’ll get one at some point. Still need to sell my MODX6 first.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and got one anyway, as it does look very useful. I’ve hardly used my old one but this seems more like a big step up. It’s more for giving to a mate in the audience to film rather than them use their phone etc. and shoot portrait 🙄 From my early tests in low light (just the cat at home) the quality is very good compared to other devices i have like this. It needs to be simple to use and it doesn’t get much simpler than rotate the screen and its recording, with horizon levelling. I have used my GoPro and Max at gigs from the stage. On larger stages I’ve put the Max on the end of the Insta selfie stick, sticking out from the PA stand. This has worked really well. Those 360 cameras give a bit more interest and ability to vary the view over the fix ones like the action cameras.
  14. The low end is deeper, and overall I’d say the 400’s are richer sounding, with a bit more depth, but this was testing them out at home against the 100. In a live environment i don’t think the difference is a big, but it’s still there. One noticeable difference is the fit. The 400’s are slightly different. A bit thicker in places and i noticed this right away. The 100’s were a revelation to me. I finally found a pair of IEM’s that fitted my flat ears perfectly. I did two gigs with them and then got the 400’s. These still fit fine, but do take a a tiny bit more work to get them in. They stay put though and I’m more than happy. Not sure I’d bother getting the 400 again if i lost or broke mine. The cost difference doesn’t seem to match the improvement for me. I’d be just as happy with the 100.
  15. I guess i another thing to maybe consider is that in small places the vocal mics will pick more of the stage sound up and relay that back to the monitors. They can also give the impression the sound is leaking in a bit more. i don’t use ambient mics when on small stages for this exact reason.
  16. I find that on small stages it feels like my IEM’s aren’t sitting correctly in my ears. I guess there is only so much noise they can reduce. I find Comply’s tips help make a better seal, but when I’m standing right next to a drummer there isnt much else i can do. i guess its saves setting the ambient mic up 😀 Im using IE400 pro but also found the same with the IE100. Both have been the best fit and seal i have ever had though.
  17. Not familiar with the gear you are talking about, but I’d say you might be better off with something like a Zoom B4 over the BDI21. This has full amp and cab sims. You could definitely fine tune it to your liking.
  18. For Bass in IEM’s ive started to insert a Guitar amp sim (built in to my XR18). It seems to give it a bit more ‘life’ and less DI’ed (which it is). Not a true Bass rig sim, but seems to work better than just EQ.
  19. Looks like it was £148 inc delivery, so ive ordered one. Thanks for the head up. Love the fact that its black as well 🙂
  20. cheers. I was looking at them last night on Amazon for £170 but I'll check Thomanns out. IIR its free over £100.
  21. Cheers. As far as the drums go that's pretty much what I have to do. If there is a big stage I'll put it in the centre in front, but on smaller stages it needs to sit just off the snare and HH. The kick gets mixed up and my drummer doesn't use his toms much. Ive also found the vocal mics seem to do a good job of picking the drums up anyway, but I prefer a bit of stereo spread in my IEM's if possible. It all gets recorded in Logic on my iPad via USB so I can mix it later (and correct any mistakes I make before send it to the band ;-). Think I'll look in to the H4n Pro this month. Having now seen a few reviews of the H4e it seems while the recording system is fine, the mics are a bit too sensitive to high pressure transients. This is probably what I was suffering from.
  22. Ok, so listening back to the recording i did with the H4e i can hear more and more of those rumbles. Even when only one instrument is playing (or even when we are all playing). No idea what was causing this but i don’t think I’ll go there again, at least not for now. Shame as the recording was the cleanest and clearest ive done with a digital recorder. Ive been looking at the H4pro and it does look like a much more robust recorder. It seems like it will work for me as it seems to handle high signal levels. I need to have this right next to the snare/High hat without clipping.
  23. Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes. I was just wondering if there is anyone with pub gig footage, shot on a OP3. Very tempted to get one (as i now have a Cat), but these seem to be quite an expensive camera. Ive got the OP1 (which i hardly ever use) and it does ok, as well as most of those cameras with that size sensor, but i like the idea of the 1’’ sensor in the OP3.
  24. I got this during the first lock down as I wanted to go back to keys. It was mostly used at home, with only 2 gigs under its belt. I switched to a MODX7+ last year and this has been sitting in its case ever since. Its it great condition and comes with the official Yamaha MODX6 bag (worth over £100) Never had an issue with it and was keeping it as a back up, but I think i need to let it go now. I'll also throw in a memory stick with few Easysounds/Narf sound packs, plus some free ones ive collected (total worth around £200+) If I had to only have one synth it would be a MODX. One of the best all rounders IMO and vey portable. Due to its size I can't post, so would need to be collected from me in central London, near the Southbank (where you are welcome to play it) or meet up in central London.
  25. Decades ago i was in a band that was looking for a guitarist. Our drummer was in to Killing Joke etc, and singer was in to alternative stuff. I preferred new wave and pop. We auditioned a few that were good players but the other two thought more about image over ability so kept looking. In walks a punk. Full on 70’s Kings road stuff. He was quite young but seemed nice enough. He had one of those strange angular shaped guitars (when asked where he got it, he said he did a ‘Jonesy’ at a gig 🙄). He had it for a few years but never really got around to playing it. This actually turned out to mean never got around to learning to play it, although for him, whacking all the strings whilst deadening them with his left hand gave him the sound he wanted. He had two distortion boxes to get him his signature ‘dog bark’. Anyway, even the drummer got frustrated at this and tried to get him to play a few chords. The guitar was hopelessly out of tune, and the strings were quite rusty. He offered to tune it up for him and one by one, the strings broke 😂. This left it totally unplayable so the punk said he would come back for the next audition with another guitar, and just walked out, leaving his guitar on the floor. We never saw him again but apparently the drummer took the guitar home and ended up selling it for around £1000. This was back in the very late 70’s.
