On my way!
-
I just had a lovely drive from Rugeley to Doveridge, just to get my bearings really, but it’s so nice here in the village hall car park basking in the sun I might just have a kip until kick off... ...zzz.
-
Just had a huge, hot, vegetable dhansak so anyone trying my basses tomorrow might get a right spicy trumpet voluntary in the left ear. That is all. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
-
I’m on at 2:37 presenting my collection of South Mulluckan folk art.
-
I’ve just slung my QSC in a bag and taken it to the Bass Bash, you be surprised, thing is it’s perfect for home and you could use it for gigs if you wished. Just say the word and I’ll bag it up and drive it over if you want to try one.
-
After an awful 4.5 hr drive I’m now ensconced in a hotel half an hour away from the Bash and awaiting Pointless on the TV. If they are Basschat lanyards then woo hoo!
-
Where are you located @Twanger? Come over and try out my FRFR setup, I think it would be perfect for your situation.
-
I am not sure about lanyards, at my first Bash a couple of folk had them and I wished I had one, last time at the SWBB I was glad I didn’t, mind you, those stickers with your name in marker pen, a) they give me the Jüdderman for some reason and b) I seem to be someone to whom nothing will adhere. I am rethinking the lanyard.

What famous musicians death most shocked you

Paul Raven. Just the funniest man I’ve ever met, a proper gentleman and someone you could genuinely trust and depend on. I met him in 1983 and considered him a friend from then on, it slaughtered me when he died but I’m left with many excellent memories, all hilarious. Cracking bass player too! -
Go get it, I’d be well chuffed if you ended up with it, it just wasn’t getting used to its full potential with me.
-
Yes, I owned it from new, never gigged, one Bass Bash and occasionally used in home rehearsals.
-
It sounds like you know it's still there... http://ww.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/AER_Amp_Basic_Performer.html ...you'll find nothing better at this price and I took care of it so it's in pristine nick.

Sir Horace Gentleman and John Bradbury from The Specials.
-
Eugene Wright and Joe Morello...
-
Sleaford Mods last night, they were, of course, excellent but, for a change, I really enjoyed the support too, a band called Lines from Manchester... ...stark, post-punk loveliness, first support band I’ve enjoyed for yonks.

^ This, I swear by those silent right angled jacks.

Not seen Sid & Zillah since early 2000s and lost touch. Last time I worked for them was 11th Aug 1984 when they backed up New Model Army (yes, with Stuart Morrow) at Klub Foot. I keep in touch with their later guitarist Steve.

A big Crass fan, certainly a very formative band for me, musically, politically. I used to hang out at Dial House quite a bit way back then, probably more of a nuisance than a commune supporter. I saw them at Walthamstow around the same time but I can’t remember the venue either! It was through Crass that I got my first job as a roadie for Rubella Ballet. I still listen to all their albums but Feeding The 5000 takes a lot of beating.

Evening, welcome. Lots punk/post punk era folk on here, the drug of choice is a statin rather than a bag of glue these days mind you.

Have you ever purchased your old Bass back?
Frank Blank replied to thebigyin's topic in General Discussion
Yes, just recently bought back a Godin A4 that I foolishly sold. -
Best basslines for a FRETLESS beginner?
Frank Blank replied to Zoe_BillySheehan's topic in General Discussion
Thirty seconds until a man in black contact lenses appears, love it.
