I just started doing open mic nights and tbh I wouldn't lend my bass unless it was being used right in front of me. It's nice and I don't want it screwed up. I always take a spare even if it's only acoustic

No - don't really hate it. My daughter writes her own songs and sings them. Proper ones with verses and so on. she's only five and I celebrate the talent

[/quote] Seper ate kbd won't necessarily help - what you need is a wrist rest, a marble mouse, and properly oriented desk and chair.
