1.
ooh lovely, i still regret selling mine, i miss that growly tone you can only get from a warwick... if you still have this by september 20th i'll take her of your hands if you like.
Next year, or do you time travel ?
2. Stick with it Doggedness is the trick with eBay
3. Come up often on eBay and don't sell for much so you could try one cheaply
4. German made Warwick Corvette standard from 2000. Passive : volume, blend, tone. Light, with a narrow (approx 38mm) & slim neck, which would be perfect for those with smaller hands. Superb condition, it is in a natural finish with an Ovankvol neck . There are a couple of very minor dinks by the jack socket (ie on the lower edge), apart from that its damage-free. Serial number indicates September 2000 and runs between the tuners vertically along the head stock. Frets are polished and smooth with no wear at all I have lemon oiled the board and neck and its been looked after generally.I've put switch cleaner into the pots and they are smooth. I have replaced the jack with a Neutrik version from Maplin (known Warwick weak point apparently) and the plastic "just a nut 2" has lost its side tabs (I still have them, they just broke off due to weak design, so you can glue them on if you wish). Its really not an issue if you change the strings one at a time, and it takes microseconds to slot it back in if you take the strings all off at once . I'm finding the neck a little narrow, so I'm moving it on. I had thought Warwicks had chunky nexks. Preferably collected from near Mansfield. I do get about, in London for first weekend in December, and in Sheffield weekend of 24th November so can deliver/meet. Can be brought to J27 M1 (Annesley). I'm willing to ship this (at cost, no profit), this will however be in a disassembled state (ie neck and body separated/strings, screws, any loose parts in a jiffy bag etc) so please be sure you are confident about reassembling it or know someone who can assist you. Several pics here if you swipe.: BACS, Cash, cleared cheque or PAYPAL (you pay fees please) Yours for £400
5. As someone who owns a badly insulated conservatory with a radiator connected to the main CH system, I'd think twice before doing that Consult a heating engineer first is my advice
6. Thanks - so the nut, and the jack socket are a bit rubbish for build quality it seems Anything else I should know ?
7.
I believe Wilton Felder played Bass on "I want You Back", he also played Sax with the Crusaders. (with the wonderful Pops Popwell on Bass) Also I think there was a demo version knocking around somewhere, with James Jamerson on Bass Pops On Bass here/Wilton Felder on Sax. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqGw7YBFH-A
Yep -Wilton Felder. Jerry Scheff said so.
8. Think they are visible on the nut edges here Google warwick just a nut 3 5 string http://images.thoman...prod/187282.jpg Are the nuts supposed to ping out ? Base plate seems solid but adjustable unit just falls out EDIT Think I figured it - the littel tabs are the retaining clips and must have snapped? Thanks Mr G btw You can see the colour in teh second pic above - its not really blonde as such. I've cleaned the findgerboard and lemon oiled it, and cleaned the body and nek with Dettox and then polished it with pledge and its looking not too shabby for a 14 year old bass. Just bought a metal fret mask on Evilbay so I can polish the frets.
9. Ok seems to be the lead - tried a different cheapie one and it doesn't cut out. Took the strings off last night and the nut popped off, it's plastic and adjustable. Do they always just drop out ? There are two small pieces of plastic that came out too - black and L shaped but wide. I'd guess at 5mm x 3mm - does anyone know what they are and where they fit ? They look like L shaped shims Bass cleaned up nicely but frets need a polish and new strings
10. I have tried the mex that you mention and it was superb

12. I found an old basschat thread on Google - apparently Maplin do a Neutrik model for only £3 so I'll just replace it. Code is N39GB - WD want about £12. Is there anyway I can repair the coloured oil finish ? Its a bit tired. Anyone got any guidance on the pots ? I'm not entirely sure how much cutout is actually down to the jack being rubbish. Am I okay to shoot them full of contact cleaner ? IS there any iddue with doing this to the blend pot ? that has a mini circuit board on it but I'm not sure what the circuit board does. thanks to everyone who has helped so far
13. Is it just a standard part ? New to Warwicks
14. Thanks - mine is the antique natural shade - can you get a coloured wax ? Any tips in applying it ?
15. It looks dry - any suggestions what oil I should use ? Also the jack and blend control seem very crackly and both tend to cut the signal - any suggestions ? Should I use switch cleaner or will that totally mess things ? Thanks
16. Would this be the one I mentioned on the other Overwater thread ? £321
17. You're all lucky - all we had were xylophones
