  1. In a very small car, so theres just enough space for a sandwich as @rwillett has pointed out some major advantages of doing that
  2. Yes I’d put a smear of silicon under the tuner plate to hold it down i avoid drilling holes if possible
  3. If it’s just one per tuner I’d just leave them out
  4. I’d pay a fiver to not see you play 😝
  5. Nope Judging by “them changes” youre doing fine
  6. If I bought this, could you have it delivered right way up? The photos seem a bit southern-hemisphere
  7. I’d like one, if I were still playing 4 strings. Totally 5 now. Green would be my choice as the others are just a bit 1987 Ibanez
  8. For £700 a scratch plate wouldn’t bother me. It’s the more important parts that I think are amiss.
  9. He may not know mine were pretty good
  10. Serial not found is a big red flag the blocks probably are stickers, but the ferrule and string retainers look a bit hooky to me, exactly as they did to @HeadlessBassist I’d say it was a bitsa
  11. Drumroll… then cymbal
  12. I used packaging from Next socks - doesn’t shrink or squash … unlike the socks …
  13. Sire v7 would be my recommendation well done for helping him get away from The Dark Side
  14. Yes but if they are made of tonewood … 🍿
  15. Might help if you say what, if at all, they were cut for?
  16. Youre a martyr and a true inspiration to all who aspire to personal purity quite like the idea of the neep one and the les Paul (bass obviously, not the weedy kind) 🤮
  17. We aren’t local … see league of gentlemen “Edward and tubs’ local shop”
  18. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, as someone, probably Shakespeare himself wrote
  19. Lead him away from The Dark Side
  20. Perhaps I will see you in November @neepheid
  21. I was told by a luthier and professional db player (who made his own cello, as you do) that on an acoustic db it’s not that important to be precise as the note takes longer to form as a sound by which time you’ve moved on to the next note. and breathe….
  22. Hmm - needs tort. And a p bass
  23. If I’ve learned one thing about 5, and it’s my third attempt it is to forget it’s there until you need to “play across” to avoid open strings - few songs use notes lower than E example you could play teenaged dirtbag by playing across from fret 5 rather than use E and A open strings, then youre free to shift up and down by a semitone if needed
  24. What was this bass @Stub Mandrel ?
