  1. So at least learn standard rhythm notation.... it’s really not that hard
  2. Ooh ... can of worms ... tab is useful for newbies for confidence, you find out “how to play” in terms of getting the right notes but it teaches nothing about rhythm. You can learn notation and so take in more music, not just music voiced for bass guitar. I favour tab + which combines a suggested fingering of the notes with rhythm shown in standard notation. Best of both worlds
  3. Even if mr pfeiffer, who models for the photos, is one scary looking dude
  4. Hopefully he won’t kill you though
  5. Excellent book, really good explanation of how certain notes work over given chords
  6. Anything by @Stuart Clayton
  7. I’ll speak slower -:p
  8. I’ll speak slower ... Wait for a geordie to come along and translate for you
  9. It does not translate in emote-less text. You should have wrapped it in Geordie-tags eg [broon] you heard what he’s sayin about yor bass?! [/broon] then it would translate
  10. It’s “your”... 😞 and I like the colour ....
  11. It has the exact colour of a werthers original. Awesome
  12. Build one from parts as and when, they come up often on the recycle board. V inexpensive so should appeal to SWMBO
  13. I have two spades in my shed , I prefer one to the other. If there was a market for used spades I’d sell. You are in a better position
  14. You need other friends ... that one is delusional
  15. Yeah ...Sesame Street
  16. “Answering machine” (back in the old days it was an actual physical machine)
  17. I feel cut off from all of this wordplay, so I suggest “circumcision bass”
  18. Well the string on the left is getting towards “correct” - the other six look a bit weedy though .... they may have cheated you on weight there 😛
  19. “Imprecision bass”
  20. Or you’re in U2... 😛
  21. Check it with a multi meter @KiOgon would know definitely- why not upload some pictures ?
  22. I’ve only ever bought one bass specified by me and I wanted a 70s 3Tsb precision. Simple choices. If we’re talking “coffee-table with strings custom”, I’d get a five so I didn’t have to buy two. You can always not use the B those overwaters are so much better at playing bass than I am that I may as well be on Mars
  23. @Andyjr1515 is this your speciality ?
  24. Make it a no-load tone and I’d agree
  25. I have a no-load tone in my p bass. You can really hear the tone control drop out, also there is a tactile but soft click as it does so
