@SamIAm the best reference I found for this was in “Bass guitar for dummies” by Patrick pfeiffer in which he goes through the scale for various chords and identifies which notes are good in strong beats and which make great passing notes on weaker ones it was the first explanation I ever read which made me think “ah!”. @Shiggs I’ve seen some very petite ladies manage a full sized bass. It can be done, you have to compromise on technique and deviate away from that 100% ideal perfect kind espoused in tutor books. Exactly as Scottish-me @neepheid says. Example Enid from Girlschool is about 5’0 and does just fine with a p bass. Maggie from Fuzzbox is petite and just moves her hand more often

I often disagree with you @nilorius but you shouldn’t apologise for your command of English. I have IELTS 9 (top score) in English and I know that English is a really hard language to learn second. It’s in a league with Chinese for complexity with a vocabulary twice as large as most other languages. I know a German lady who has been in England 20 years, is married to a Brit and has English speaking kids and she still makes major mistakes
