  1. A perverted one, you closet guitard
  2. Hi we have quite a few US members @jd56hawk @Bluewine @StickyDBRmf spring to mind do you have an equivalent of Open Mic nights? That’s where I found people to play with, and bass players are quite rare so no shortage of people offering collaboration
  3. I seem to have been blessed with a bracket? count me in please
  4. @thebrig sounds like you’re sorted … @Dood I remembered from when I sent you the tort plate for your deacon clone P
  5. It has already shimmered into existence like some kind of not-very-good mirage
  6. He’s not done well as PM…couldn’t you have developed him a bit more?
  7. You mistook it for a guitar?
  8. I’m sorry - I was sure it was shown under “tutors available” in the unread topics list
  9. Yes. I was channelling Theresa may, which is not a sentence that I ever thought I might utter
  10. I’m going to find the magic talent tree
  11. Possibly in the wrong place ? @Woodinblack
  12. Isn’t @Dood a local ?
  13. Is that the bit where you practice takeoff? Or the bit where you compete with siblings for a worm? 😛
  14. Pah ! A virtuoso speaks …. I’m still so rubbish that mice run away covering their ears and will even leave their cheese behind in their haste to get out of earshot
  15. My initial answer was No, but actually it’s Yes zoom b2 ampeg, full cab plus some compression
  16. Just post your question here 👍
  17. Why the screwdriver issue? Why not simply change the battery holder for one you can open easily without tools? That’s a whole lot easier Click I’ve had my sire 9 months and I’ve changed batteries once - why make your life hard doing routing ? Sire has these x 2
  18. Picture 2 is disqualified as the title is about “basses” and that clearly isn’t one. puzzled that the cuckoo has so many frets though
  19. that looks unusually clean for anywhere in Nottingham. I’d be expecting to see vomit, and maybe squashed kebab ?
  20. I first picked up a white/white/maple p bass copy in 1990. I carried it all the way from a music shop near Colchester castle (in its box) to the train station (seriously long way) and then by train to Chelmsford, where I once again walked ** … all the way across town to my flat where I played it acoustically for two days before I decided it sounded crap without an amp. More saving up … ho hum … ** there are those with supportive parents who would be thinking “this is 1990, not 1820… surely a parent could…” no. They never encouraged or helped in any way whatsoever (will someone please stop playing that f***ing violin?)
  21. 😮‍💨that was a close one …
  22. They are at j25 m1, John lives near me at j22
  23. Suggest you try Turners, which is about 200 miles closer than East Sussex and if they cannot help you I’ll put you in touch with John. Edit: https://share.google/XD1SRdoo5dTYW1dTo recently he saw my acoustic bass from about 20 feet away and said it needed more bow. He was right #blackmagic very helpful and knowledgeable chap
  24. There is one in beeston, Nottingham thats a lot closer. “Turner violins” I know for certain that they do double bass - fairly close to m1 junction Failing that I know a double bass luthier in Coalville who may be able to help you or at least signpost you. he built his own cello from raw lumber … ✨🤷‍♂️ knowing him he’ll probably make you a magical one out of five lolly sticks and some glue that will survive nuclear holocaust
  25. FTFY edit: and you’ll save on heating costs
