1. Good advice there. My experience with Eden would second your comments. Thank you for sharing.
2.
A P body but with Jazz pick ups in it, with a Jazz neck that is the same size as a P neck, but it says Jazz on it, with flatwound strings from a Jazz, but used on a P, and with Jazz tuning heads for the E and A strings, but Precision heads for the D and G strings, with a BBOT bridge from a P that was put on a Jazz, but then swapped out for something fancy and put back on the P. I like to keep it simple.
This, definitely this, every time. 😊
3. Does an iPhone link into a Zoom B3?...
4. A very nice bass, with a good amount of relic there, if I do say so myself! (Sorry for thread resurrection).
5. GLWTS 😊
6. Bargain here for someone. Tom Clement is an excellent luthier and really has very solid and exacting finish to his builds. Amazing basses and very individual. He really know how to pick some excellent woods and craft them to perfection. Highly underrated; likely due to people keeping his basses because they're so good!
7. Sorry, always on mobile site and difficult to update list. But I'll be along with a couple of MTD's and a Mesa D800 (unless GAS gets the better of me in the meantime!
8. Mono Bass Sleeve Black in very very good condition. Hardly used, only slight signs of use. £65 shipped to mainland UK. £50 collected from Folkestone Kent.
9.
Is that not the typical symptom of the cabs being out of phase..? Was there another explanation, or none at all..?
Amp restrictions with a reduced output at 4 ohm as opposed to 8 maybe?... Or series as opposed to parallel wiring of the drivers?
10.
I'm trying to avoid using the most overused adjective in recent online bass discussion threads !
He he, with your fantastic new rig, I think you've got a license to make full use of that adjective.
11.
The cabs are quite deep
I guess they have to be for all that HEFT they've got in there. Stunning 😍
12. Yep, unlike other amps, the fan runs all the time, even without speaker load and headphone only use.
13. The Vanderklay looks great Dave, and clearly suits your needs. Glad you've found something that works. I'm still loving my BB2, so much that I'm looking for a second one to pair up. Good times for bassists with all this choice of fantastic equipment.
14.
Includes footswitch
Damn right it does! Fantastic amp there. Someone will be very pleased! 😊
15.
Damn. I hate fan noise - and more to the point, the woodwind players in my band hate it too. It's so annoying. Tecamp / Eich can build plenty without fans, and there are 1000W per side 1u power amps (usually used in permanent installations) that are fanless too.
I know! (Sorry for the thread derail). It seems like manufacturers aren't making fans a primary consideration. Everything else about the D800 is very special though. It's even got cab emulation on the headphone out. Very loud, great tones, OD built in, great EQ, super portable. I'm jealous of the OP's Subway cabs, a GREAT pairing indeed. 😊
16.
The most important question is... How loud is the fan?
I've found the fan too loud for it to sit on my desk top while using it for headphone practice. I do play at low volumes (to save my hearing), but this is with both over ear and on ear headphones. But if I place it away from me and make use of some lead length it's ok.
17. Free shipping to mainland UK, all in for only £89!
18. Awesome! Just awesome. I am very happy with my BF BB2, I didn't think any other cab could get me gassing... but...
19.
I would say that means the dings / wear on it are the ones done at the factory. Then it is immaculate as it is as new.
Yep, me too. 😊
20.
We gladly pay for a reliced bass but we(including me) get a bit testy about a new bass that has a bit of wear from being in a shop...strange old world.
He he! I know what you mean. Strangely I feel a bass with a few dings feels flawed, but when it's got lots of dings and becomes a heavy relic, I actually then think it becomes rather nice!
