1. With apologies to all that expressed an interest (and this bass caused quite a stir!), after a lot of thought and comparison with vintage Fenders, I've decided that it would be nuts to sell this bass. It really is an extraordinary instrument in terms of ergonomics, feel and playability, tone, utility and aesthetics. My apologies to all those that have been in communication - sorry to let you down. New price of £750 For sale after much thought and deliberation - the best Fender style bass I've owned or played. This is the bass specced by Discreet on BC and is probably still perceived as the 'reference' Limelight - see links for images - Discreet - I hope this is OK? Stunning relicing, massive J tone, and fantastic playability (set-up with D'Addario balanced tension nickel rounds). Comes with functional if well-used ABS shaped case and original saddles. The bass is wearing very nice brass saddles as the originals were seized and three are non functional. I'm selling only as I have something incredibly special and expensive on the way in. This really is a stunning player/looker in every way. The bass owes me just under £900 so I think the price is reasonable - I'm not looking at trades or offers thanks. Also available is a Spitfire pickguard (shown fitted to the bass in the images above) - this was imported at a cost of around £130. I'll throw it in for an extra £75. There's an image of the Limelight guard below (beautiful in its own right): this will be supplied with the bass at the £750 price. To summarise then, bass with original guard is £750, and bass with Spitfire and original guard is £825. Collection from West Midlands or can ship for around £15 without insurance (at buyers risk). Further images to come but I can't do better than Discreet - please see link below (post no. 9 has some fantastic images): http://basschat.co.u...melight-thread/
2. Absolute bargain IMO
3. What an absolutely beautiful rig - very classy indeed. I miss my DB750,
4. Beautiful, I doubt many studio players on here haven't used one, but these are gorgeous for bass - three of the presets are eminently useable - very nice 'sit' in any mix and fantastic solidity for live use. Good price too!
5. I have to agree, this is a giveaway - very hard times indeed. Very best of luck
6. I can concur on the quality here - a very versatile pre. I sold mine when I realised that after years of trying and experimenting, I don't actually much like valve tone/pres! I went the Millennia route and use the SS side only. If you do like valve tone, I doubt you'd find a finer pre than the 680.
7. Oh dear...this is not at all helpful...fortunately (!?) I've just spent-up...
8. Have I missed something? I can't see a JO4 for sale - maybe the natural one? If so, I may need to sell something expensive!
9. used to play a mustang and a japanese J through one of these a long time ago - great to see a FAL 50. They really don't sound that bad - quite clean and reasonably loud from memory.
10. Wow, absolute bargain - any purchaser can't lose on this surely!?
11. Used to own a Pangborn but not a Warlord - very lovely, very desirable, very rare. I don't play long scale basses much, but if I played 'em more, I'd have this. Now
12. I had one of these - they feel light and balance beautifully. The neck looks about right to me too - superbly comfortable and playable

Sold

Absolutely love this - unique, cool and bespoke - just wish I could afford it. Have a bump for a thing of beauty!
14. As fine an example of bass-related industrial design as one might find. I've wanted one of these for ages but I'm giving-up on long-scale. Beautiful condition and in my opinion, a great price
15. Add Avalon and Millennia for pres
16. Beautiful but is it Daphne rather than sonic (not always easy to tell in images)?
17. this looks lovely to me and excellent quality (I'd assume) for the price.
18. I've not taken a forensic or scientific look but anecdotally, it appears that a lot of Foderas appear for sale second hand. Some where the seller has a number of Foderas and is purchasing another/new bass of the same brand, but many where the owner is getting out of Fodera ownership. I was in the latter camp - I sold the one Fodera I've owned to buy an alternative very high-end bass. The Fodera was very well built from great timbers - it played well and the tone was even/strong but without distinctive character. The bass just wasn't for me - rigid, 'big' and not really fun to play (all very personal of course). Worth the money? The US buyer thought so and I made a good few quid - 'makes a change!
19. I want this far too much...why did I sell mine!?
20. Cryogenian
21. Very very lovely indeed - how many of these are going to come up? A lot of dosh certainly, but the first and last word in vintage tone
22. Used to have one of these - truly top end stuff and really pokey for a 1x12. Light with small footprint - better for jazz or theatres than full-on rock in my experience but versatile at the clean and uncoloured end of the spectrum
23.
Wish I'd bought this when it went up for sale!!!
I've just put it down - it looks every bit as good in the corner as it does in those pics - just outstanding in every way!
24. For me, the best combo on the planet - unbelievably good (not sure about the re-styled facia but this is purely cosmetic)
