Dude! I've got a freeport and gig with it a coupla times a week. Some say it loses bottom, but in the bread and butter world of sweaty clubs, no one's gonna notice if you compensate by using your amp's eq a little. I use NMH rechargeables with mine - recharge before every gig. With all the controversy over frequencies being taken away, I certainly wouldn't invest too much dough in a radio at the mo!! freeport all the way!

Light enough to make a big difference, but still substantial enough to feel 'proper'. I was amazed at the tone when I first played it - I had it in my head that it would lack botton, but it doesn't at all. Has some nice low mid stuff that cuts through a mix real well. You'd be best to try the sound first though to make sure you like it. Col

Just put an East pre in mine - gigged it tonight and it sounded real good. Man - that neck is sooooo fast - not sure if it's the satin finish, but it feels slimmer than my other jazzes. Had to rout the body slightly to get the pre in, but well worth it. Next.....maybe a badass - don't think it really needs it but hey.......!

Sound Control in Milton Keynes did mine for £215 inc a set of Dunlop Straplocks. Ask them what their best price is, then get them to throw in a freebie - strings/straplock/lead etc. Always buy the best you can find or you'll regret it later!!

Here's mine: I love it, but access to the upper frets is V poor - if ur gonna play 'All Right Now' - forget it!! The pearloid plate looks real nice - not el cheapo at all! Col
