1.
That's awesome, all with Sheema?
Yeah, should be interesting!
Result! Really pleased for you, fantastic news and well deserved I have no doubt! That's really put a smile on my face
Cheers Fly.
 2.
Why?
Because until one HEARS what these things sound like, one don't know sh*t.
 3.
Sounds like I should get the flat response one instead then
No it doesn't.
 4. I thought this one had died out after doing the rounds last year. It's not a good analogy and his grammar is a bit crap, but a lot of people liked it.
 5.
Blimey Nige, you`ve not ousted Duff McKagans return to Guns N Roses have you with the Brazil dates?
Actually, these are guitar gigs I have
 6.
Ace!
I know! I can't believe it!
 7. Thanks again guys. Well, as you were saying in the 'Last Gig' thread, one door shuts and another opens. Just found out I'll be playing every day at Glastonbury, and got three dates in Brazil before that, I get a proper fee too. Funny old world init
 8. I just hurled or blew chunks or whatever. Tort on black?! See a good psychiatrist. Mine's good if you need a number.
 9. It can do almost anything. It does have the passive tone iirc but it's stacked.
 10.
No not the best song the Stone Roses ever made, I have finally found my ultimate bass !
Give it six months
 11. I live to gig. But it's not necessary for certain types of music. If you are a singer/songwriter/artist type in pop/hip hop/electronica or whatever, you can use the internet to do everything you need to get signed and build a large fan base, and thus be in a position to play live later on and make it work financially. I'm not advocating it or saying it's right or wrong, but that's the way it can be. Gigging is not the be all and end all, although it is for me.
 12. Sounded too far ahead of the beat for me and generally not sweetly timed. It might have been that the backing was so quiet. It's just a perception thing though, clearly for most it sounds fine. I'm not keen on his tone either
 13. Thanks mate. I'll keep you informed of developments.
 14. Thank you, Fionn, that's just the sort of encouragement I need. Cheers.
 15. I just came across this thread looking for another. I really appreciate your kind words and sentiments guys, I know Kit, and James, Sam, Ali, and Kate would too, so thank you x Kit gave it five years and nowt really happened. Got a ton of support from you guys, but not that much else, not enough. Kit was 22 when I joined her band nearly five years ago, she was always into Hip Hop, Math Metal, Gabriel, Crowded House .. but she's developed and evolved a lot, and been writing lately in a way that the arrangements became increasingly difficult to shoehorn into a band of this format. We started using backing tracks and four BVs and it sounded amazing but still no real interest. "Hard to market" she was told. Add to that she's doing a PhD and working an internship, it became untenable. There's not even a need to gig anymore with the kind of music she's now writing and recording, everything one might need to get success can be achieved online. I think she's a unique vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and she writes the most beautiful lyrics. Kit's very special and you recognised that. I hope she gets the success she wants. I've heard her new material and it's beautiful. I'll post it here and I hope you'll love it. I'll really miss playing with her and her gorgeous band, but things change and we must all find our own paths. Mine will not include Mustang Sally Thanks again for your amazing support, much love xx RIP the Kit Richardson band .. Long live CLAWS ..
 16. Sounds like you want out, the band sounds like it's going nowhere and you're frustrated. Talk to em. Give them an objective, get out if they don't, or don't want to, meet it.
 17. At first I found his timing too frantic and it made me feel anxious, but he settles in really nicely in the second half. That does sound like an octave doesn't it.
 18. They look ace!
 19.
Go for it! It's a great thing to do. I love the huge sound, big, complex pieces of music gradually coming together. When it locks together it is spectacular. You're right there in the heart of the sound. It's powerful and moving. Other benefits are that it has sharpened my comprehension of music theory and brought on my sight-reading by leaps and bounds. It made me confident in voice. So much so that I now sing as a soloist. That's something that I would never previously have imagined doing. Then there is the camaraderie. being part of something so big, done well, is very rewarding ... it's all good. If you're doing it seriously it's a BIG commitment though. I sing both baritone and tenor, in two different (Scottish) Gaelic choirs ... Coisir Gaidhlig Mhealbhaich and Coilich a' chinn a tuath. I've won a National championship with the later, performed and competed nationally and internationally. It has become a part of my life that I couldn't imagine being without.
That's exactly what I was thinking! I suddenly had a bit of an epiphany and thought, I love singing, I could be good at it, I love choral music, I wanna be a part of it. Why am I thinking I need another bass or guitar gig in a band? I've had a look at a few local choirs and they seem like I might have a chance and one is after tenors at the moment. I know if I have the right motivation I will learn to sight read. I think this is it. Congratulations on your own achievements, they sound fantastic!
 20.
I've no idea at all if it was, glad you got the plug regardless. I'd been talking with a couple of producers about s'thing completely different & they asked what else I could suggest, at the time the CD was on a table near me so I mentioned that.
Well thank you mate! She'd had some feedback from a label that the music was brilliant, but that they would have no idea how to market it. Her new stuff I've heard may go some way to addressing that, no band baggage may help.
 21.
Ah well, did you ever hear from BBC Radio 6? I tried a bit of plugging while the first EP was new.
We were on twice, Stu. On the BBC Introducing show. The first time they played You Always Did IIRC. If that was down to you, thank you mate!
 22.
My advice, take your time and talk it through properly before getting emotional. Bands are bloody hard work most of the time and the fact you stuck with this one for four years means something. Just tell them how you feel and see what they say. If the reunion is to be long term then you'll need an alternative, if it's just a few gigs, it aint worth getting bothered about.
I think this is good advice, Karl. Honesty and candour may allow them to feel confident telling you the truth. Then you can make more informed decisions, even if the truth may sting a bit.
 23.
You prob have to sing some songs. With other people like. y'know. At the same time. Tricky things choirs.
Yeah I know, I did some research about them last night.
 24.
Went to a local pub gig on saturday and a couple where having a barny in the entrance lobby, apparently they where the local church choir leaders (though that maybe rubbish), rather Father Ted like Totally unconnected I know, Good luck, hope you enjoy it
Thanks.
 25.
Bear in mind you will probably end up singing bad arrangements of pop songs you've never liked.
I hopefully won't be doing anything like that
