No probs! Bass Direct no doubt have all of them in (all the entire Genz range) so if you are nearby, try and get to the shop to test em out Failing that, take a gamble They are both fantastic.

I do like Sonic Blue, but I've kinda had a P Bass like that before and got a bit bored. Seafoam/Surf Green seems a little rarer...especially with Brown Tort. It will have to be some shade of white, sunburst, or seafoam green...my favourite bass/guitar colours!
The delicate sound of thunder. Two T-40s (normally the sunburst one though) through a sansamp into an Orange AD200 and OBC 8x10. Absolute monster.
I bet that sounds stunning. I'd love to have an Orange 8x10.

Hi Chris I've just taken delivery of a SMax 9.2, and I have a Streamliner 900 which has seen some use live, etc. For me, the Streamliner is very very good at what it does. Those 3 EQ knobs, combined with the mid freq. selector and the gain provide many many different tones. It is warm, round, fat, and syrupy. It will, however, give you some very clear 'studio quality' high end....the treble knob is excellent and almost like a passive tone control on a Fender. Bump the mids a tiny bit, lower the bass to 9/10, and you have the Steamliner flat, then take it from there. The grind from the tubes/tube dirt is brilliant. It can also do VERY clean and extremely high volumes. Lots of low end and a lot of volume. The SMax 9.2 is bigger, more 'complex', clearer and more like a combination of a solid state and a hybrid (due to two channels). I wanted one because I craved a totally clean, very transparent amp, and the Max 9.2 gives you that, with the new technology the Streamliner has in the Max package. The Max will dirty up, but it won't have that huge warm tone the Streamliner does. You will be able to get close though. If you want the most versatile, pickup the Max 9.2. I've not used mine much as Im moving house, but its a quality bit of kit. I was lucky to buy one second hand and its totally immaculate. The footswitch is bombproof and comes with it.

I've compared many 1x15s to the OBC 115, and it certainly does sound great, and works for me live. So, despite the specs, the cab will take a fair whack, but don't expect miracles. I found it had a pretty punchy midrange compared to the BF Compact.

New addition and a bit of a dumb question...
Musicman20 replied to waldemar's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think the best bet would have been to get a 4 ohm 2x10 or 2x12 for larger gigs (and take the head out) or for smaller gigs, use the combo on its own with good PA support. The problem is, that little 1x10 combo will run out of steam, (both the amp and the speaker) but what you have is a super small super light package, and something had to give I guess. -
Hi all I am considering a Shuker custom PJ Precision style bass. For a few years, well perhaps more than that, I have craved a Seafoam Green (pref nitro) Fender. Something with a lovely dark rosewood board, traditional tuners (lightweight versions), a fairly modern but vintage style duty bridge, all chrome hardware, and with Lindy Fralin Pups. Something that will REALLY blow a Fender out of the water, will be custom, but not too far off what many would see as a Fender inspired design, but much better! I don’t want something absolutely crazy or ‘too custom’ as in won’t really ever appeal to anyone else. I’m thinking brown Tort plate, Precision style body (but as light as Jon can make it), Precision spec neck dimensions (more so the modern Fender P neck profile), standard Fender style headstock, with a set of Lindy Fralin P/J style pups in the traditional positions, (60s for the J bridge pup). I considered blocks/binding, but I like a P bass to have dots, so I’m sticking with that. Oh, and the other thing, I am definitely considering adding the John East P-Retro to make it a totally awesome versatile bass. What are everyone’s thoughts? I like the idea that Jon is only 30mins or so from my sister’s house, so I can visit to have a look, test it out, etc. I also like the fact he can provide support for any after sales tweaks I might want to make, or ask for a complete setup every now and then, etc. I can’t get this bass from Fender, unless I spend stupid money (£2500 ish for a custom, probably more due to the fact I want the P Retro and Lindy Fralin pups). I also won’t get the after sales care Jon can provide. At the moment, its a toss up between this and ordering a new Ernie Ball Musicman Bongo.

Cheers dude! I'll take a look! Unfortunately Im predicting S&T have none in....they used to have a few but I think they are all gone now. -
I can't find these anywhere...apart from in black. Can anyone help? I'm after a HH or HS in a 4 or 5 string. No black colours. Cheers

NAD (almost) - GB Shuttlemax 9.2 waiting for me at home!
Musicman20 replied to Musicman20's topic in Amps and Cabs
Opened it! The guy I bought it from has REALLY looked after it. The footswitch had never been out of the box. The amp is literally as new. I must admit, after previously owning a Shuttle 9.0, I much prefer the more solid 'weight' to the amp, even though it is super light still. The amp is smaller than I thought, which is brilliant. I can't get to my cabs as I'm inbetween moving house, so I've just turned it on and checked all the LEDs etc. This, combined with my Streamliner 900/RH750 and AD200b, gives me everything I need. I literally have the best of all worlds. Now I just need a Neo X 212T. No pics i'm afraid...I'll wait til I'm setup in my new bass room. The build quality is solid, and it is super light. Very impressed GB! -

Patience all been out with my new job on the toon...reports following soon. -
I'm very tempted to put a deposit down on a Shuker PJ and wait it out. By the time it comes I should have the money.
Just bought an amp bag from Gareth, posted it the next day and a super smooth deal all round. Cheers dude!
No probs! Glad you like it.

Phil jones suitcase and 4b cab for £900, worth it??
Musicman20 replied to binky_bass's topic in Amps and Cabs
Are you downsizing from the Orange in your sig to the PJ + cab? IMO, it won't get nowhere near the depth/volume of the Orange rig. -
Well, I've tried to buy one of these a few times. This time, I'd sold an RS cabinet, so I had the cash waiting for new gear. The chap who I bought it off is a basschat member, but this was on ebay. Great price, apparently immaculate, and its now at home according to my girlfriend. I've wanted a totally clean sparkly solid state amp and this ticks all the boxes, plus it has a tube channel and a crazy amount of power/EQ/flexibility at under 7lbs. Now I just need a new gig bag to house it. Report to follow

New amp day... back in the bosom of MESA!
Musicman20 replied to wateroftyne's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've still as yet not heard one of these (when I've known about it) or even seen one in the flesh. I'd still like to try the combo one day. My only issue with Mesa is their price structuring in the UK is insane. I suppose if you get an amp with amazing tone and build, you get what you pay for! -
Might pop in and have a look. Seriously tempted to get a Bongo through Soundslive.

Anyone noticed the sale prices on MarkBass in BassGear sale?
Musicman20 replied to molan's topic in Amps and Cabs
What is going on with Markbass at the moment? I've heard the F1/500 is being discontinued?! From what I hear, its probably their best sounding amp, along with the LM2/3 and the new RJ. Very odd. I've tried emailing their new distributor for info, but got nothing back. I like the MoMark concept but I doubt I need to swap modules...ever. Would like to try the new RJ amp and cab. That 1x15 is meant to be very very good. -
Must admit they look well worth the wait! Im particularly impressed with the PJ...review soon?
