  1. Yup I can see the merit in that and I'm now very tempted to follow in your footsteps!
  2. If a pitch shift pedal gets you to where you want to be, then great. But there's quite a lot more that switching to a 5 string can offer.
  3. That's a shame. I love the ToneLib interface! Hopefully he will add the B6 to the Zoom pedals he covers, soon.
  4. I think they're en route to a couple of fellow BC'ers but, in the meantime, there's a good thread on TB which is worth having a read - I certainly found useful. They're ahead of us in terms of getting their hands on the pedal. Zoom B6 | TalkBass.com
  5. Hi Terry, It's a 9V 3 band Glock EQ: this one with active / passive on the volume pot; Nut width: 44mm; Slightly asymmetric neck profile - you clearly know your Carvins! The switching is 2 way i.e. single / double coil. Two other Qs asked by PM: I do still have the original EQ (which I can include). The model was originally built to spec for a fella by the name of Frank Felix, a session musician, and his name appears on the truss rod cover Hope that helps 🙂
  6. Under offer.
  7. Lovely example of a Carvin BB in very good condition. The only significant 'blemish' that I can tell is where the paint has faded at different speeds depending on exposure to the light. I very recently upgraded the stock preamp with a brand new Glock 3 band EQ, which was professionally installed by one of our own BC luthiers, and showcases the tonal versatility of the instrument with single coil and double coil switch options also available for both pups. Weight 10.1 lbs and 19 mm string spacing with body-through stringing. Comes with bespoke Carvin hard case. Ideally - available for collection from East London but willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet half way and am pretty regularly in the Birmingham and Cambridge vicinity, too. Will consider couriering (additional P&P) if meeting up is not possible.
  8. Yamaha BB 1025 in very good condition, which I have owned since buying new / end-of-line in Jan 2018. Weight 9.7 lbs, string spacing 18mm. Fantastic PJ configured bass, purely passive, not being used as much as it should these days by me and deserves to be regularly played. Ideally, available for collection from East London but willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet half way and am pretty regularly in the Birmingham and Cambridge vicinity, too.
  9. That's a great looking board Lee and, knowing you, I suspect it will be sounding equally awesome mate!
  10. Awesome board @0175westwood29! I've taken the liberty of posting this edited version of your board so that I can stop standing on my head and risking injury...just need to lie on my back instead 😁
  11. There was quite a bit of discussion about the preamp on the amps and cabs forum about the new Laney Digbeth range. This marvellous chap (who happens to be a regular on the Yamaha mega thread) posted an excellent little video review: New Laney Digbeth Preamp (link to thread) New Laney Digbeth Preamp - Short Video Review (link to dropbox clip)
  12. Cheers fella! They're going to be amused to find Boss dials on their preamp, wonder if they will take the hint - haha!
  13. Pic with the Boss dials please!

    Zoom A1 Four?

Must admit I wasn't even aware of the A1-4 till you mentioned it! But it looks like the B1-4 hardware with some different patches loaded up and with a C$40 price hike. If you've got the time you'd probably be able to create several of the A1-4 patches on the B1-4 yourself and save yourself a bit of cash. I certainly wouldn't get both the A1-4 and the B1-4, there would be far too much overlap. Out of curiosity (and partly cos I've been thinking of starting a trio project myself!) what's your trio line up?
  15. Hardcore!
  16. It's being used as a mini mixer. So it's off board with one input being the output from my pedal board. Other input is a vocal mic.
  17. And already by far the most popular gear abstinence thread EVER!! 😄
  18. It's at the end of the signal chain and not affecting the tone any more than putting the output of my pedal board into a "proper" mixing desk. And getting a new mixing desk certainly wouldn't be considered to be "bass gear", would it?
  19. It sadly fell, along with the rest of Mankind, in 4004 BC. Not to be trusted. I'm older than I look. Some may disagree.
  20. If I get a Boss LS2 to replace my replacement one sent back, but use it as a little mixer to blend in a mic and not as a line selector, I'm assuming that's ok as it's not being used as 'bass gear'?
  21. It's about as close to punk as many of us 50+ year old bass players are likely to get these days (with several notable exceptions! Me sadly not one).
  22. The Macrodose - how is it possible that you liked it? I have it on very good authority that "it's aesthetically marvellous, but sonically plebeian" or as @bassfan succinctly put it: "it looks pretty." I do get the hesitation about using it in the church worship group, though, unless you were playing something covering off Creation or just possibly the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
  23. Yeah, good plan. We could call it the "Gear try out thread challenge 2022"
  24. For goodness sake man, snap out of it: you're a fine Spector owning bass player! And NOT our typical audience.
  25. Good man. Crack the whip and show who's boss.
