  1. Mods - grateful if you could remove, duplicate thread.
  2. Surprised it wasn't uploaded on April 1st onto YT 😉
  3. Yup at QC prices, you'd hope it could manage to do a half decent pitch shift!
  4. Jim - I was finding pretty much the same with the B1-4 (which I'm guessing maybe worse if the B6 is a genuinely better sounding pedal): Zoom B1-4 & B3N - Effects patch ideas and tips - Page 11 - Effects - Basschat But I actually similarly preferred to use my cheap-as-chips B1-4 over a Digitech drop. What decent pitch shifters have you come across on your travels and which ones did you reject?
  5. Full album out today:
  6. My favourite Yamaha BB model! Too pricey for me to get this just as a "spare" though, although given how good they are and how rarely they come up, I can't say I'm not tempted!
  7. 18mm does feel pretty good! I guess there's a reason it's become standard. Old uncle Ken Smith certainly knew what he was doing and seemingly, from what you're saying, before mighty Yamaha Corp came along and took a leaf out of his play book!
  8. Yeah I was tempted to get another Ibby SR - love the finish on the 1805 (my first Ibby was the 4 string 1800). "Fortunately" for my wallet, the one in the FS had sold by the time GAS had set in! I know you and I are both huge fans of the Ibby growl that their Nord pups deliver - I only moved my 1825 on as my Spector was delivering all that and a little more, but the Ibby has a lot going for it including being very light.
  9. What make model bass was that Woody? Our Ibby SR Premium 5ers were 16.5mm and had a super comfortable neck - but I've kinda fallen into the 17.5mm/18mm string spacing with the rest, although 19mm on a 5er now feels a bit of a stretch. I was intrigued by the 15mm spacing on the BB 5000A comment, as no one had mentioned that before on this thread as far as I can remember. Did a bit of digging and apparently it was only the very early models (early 80s) that had the narrow neck and 15mm spacing before Yamaha switched back to their more standard wider neck.
  10. I guess at least not EADGB!
  11. Oooh really, 15mm string spacing, not the usual 18mm?! That is very interesting.
  12. ...and fools seldom differ, eh John? 😁 This thing is surprisingly compact - certainly more so than the Focusrite 6i6 Gen 1.0 it replaces, which my guitarist has filched off me!
  13. Just curious guys: does the B6 function as a signal boosting pre-amp in the same way as we get on our amps or is it purely a tone shaping pre-amp?
  14. Question for any Pod Go owners: does the pedal also provide a signal / volume boosting preamp as well as being a tone shaping preamp?
  15. With pleasure - it's a very simple setting for 'classic OC-2': -1 oct on max and the three other knobs dialled-off to zero. Vintage (not poly) mode. Finger style in that particular clip. Enjoy the gig!
  16. Came across this pedalboard recently - what particularly caught my eye is the additional two stomp switch box on the HX Stomp, not eating into PB space. Available from these guys: Pedalnetics
  17. Awww that is gutting - feel for you! A residency at a decent venue for decent pay is worth its weight. What happened?
  18. Sounds like it. I recorded as a .wav file - dunno if that's a specific issue for Apple users?
  19. I spotted that my little "OC-2 setting" clip on the OC-5 seems to have got corrupted earlier on this thread. I've re-uploaded it on my previous post and below also for ease of reference. Personally I think it does a great "OC-2", with less glitchy tracking, which I'm all in favour of. There's nothing better on the market at this price point IMO - those of you who have managed to get your hands on one are in for a treat! OC-2 'classic'.wav
  20. Here's a clip of @Paul S's excellent blues trio playing recently - really enjoyed going to hear them play:
  21. Took my BB2005 for a little spin recently with a new crew. Played through a DG AO 900 and BF BB2:
  22. Awww buddy, really sorry to hear about that. BC hug coming your way.
  23. You managed to get those recordings done for us? 😊 In the meantime, I recently come across this - there's definitely some usable stuff: 1.02 cut-through synth tone 2.44 decent filter 3.13 MJ Thriller-esque 3.45 Use of arpeggiator likely to be much easier for live use now that we can pre-set the rates to match the original drums - then be up to the drummer to lock in, haha! 4.07 Korg Miku sound but much less glitchy 4.24 decent synth sound
  24. Guessing this brand has had less reach and impact in the UK than the USA, where it's got quite a bit of a following! Some really positive online reviews - sharing this from Sound on Sound (March 2020): "Conclusion MOTU haven't just dropped a pair of decent audio interfaces into this entry-level market, they've raised the bar by quite some distance. They've gone significantly further on every aspect whether it's the individual +48V and monitoring buttons, the power switch, the low latency, the low noise, the metering, the DC coupling, the Loopback driver or the extra RCA outputs for easy connection to DJ gear; feature after feature that sets them apart from anything in their price range." Here's a link to their full review if you're interested.
  25. As @andy67 says both would be strong choices. A key difference is that you are getting an active bass with a versatile preamp on the Sire P7 vs purely passive on the BB I found the upper range access on the P7 a bit limiting - it has 20 frets, but only 17 are really comfortably reachable on the 5 string version. That may not be a concern for some, though. At the end of the day I also preferred the BB tone over the P7, so ended up moving my P7 on.
