  1. The swap idea was partly to put you in possession of a newer model which should theoretically fetch more, but there's probably little in it. What I'm really interested to hear is how the Aguilar pups compare with the much loved Nord big singles?
  2. Interesting. What's the power rating of those two amps at 4 ohms? The Ant delivers 196W.
  3. There are a couple in the FS right now, and best price new on eBay is £40 posted: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Valeton-LOFT-SERIES-Analog-Octave-Factory-Direct-Quality-Control-OC-10/123891475608?hash=item1cd881e498:g:gT4AAOSwGF9dW1bf
  4. ^^ this! Very very realistic sounding clone at a great price (review with sound clips posted in the pedal reviews section). Nothing else gets close for the money. It was too small for the OP. But for most folks that will be a plus rather than a negative.
  5. If Woody spots a 5er in Walnut for <£2k, I suspect I won't be holding out for too long either!
  6. Congrats on the new Ibby, Paul! Was that the one in the FS? Looked to be on for a very good price. Must admit I'm tempted to offer you a straight swap for my newer 1825, which should in theory be worth more, as I prefer the finish on your 1805! Please PM me if that doesn't sound too much of a faff!
  7. Please elaborate dB! I know you've had a gazillion dirt pedals but are also, like me, a fan of Yammy BBs, so that recommendation has made me sit up and take note! Why, in particular, do you prefer to the rest of the Tech 21 range including their most recent offerings?
  8. If you like super skinny necks, maybe Ibanez would be better for you, my man!
  9. There's a 2024X recently been relisted in the FS. You could maybe ask the seller to take a few pics of the neck profile and neck measurements to further that glimmer of hope? Not sure that it's relevant, but I love the neck on my 1025 - it's really very comfortable indeed as a 5er, but I'm assuming the profile of the 4 and 5 string necks are going to be different.
  10. Mesa M6 with its "pull deep" A cab that can deliver a meaty low end eg Fearless F112. (Or in place of the above a Markbass AC 121 Lite combo with its extended speaker excursion specifically for it to handle meaty lows and ability to deliver its full 500W load through its solo cab). A decent sub woofer with cross over for the PA. DOD Meatbox pedal. How much more sonic sludge could one person ever wish for? Job done!
  11. The other thing I always find impressive is the ability to do both vocals at same time as laying down a bass line. Our dep bassist does that and I can't even sing! (Fortunately she's only been playing bass for 3 years so I'm not yet feeling threatened by her, but by my draft P45 is clearly being got ready). Being able to do both very well, like you do (albeit with an inappropriate Scotch accent - just kidding!) is taking it to the next level. Level 42 in fact.
  12. @prowla - what are those two very tasty basses in the centre of your pic nestled between those W'icks?
  13. I used to own a Warwick. But praise be, I've seen the light brother, and a Spectre has been lifted from my bass soul 😁
  14. That was clearly a gender neutral use of the word 'gent' 😁 More seriously - apologies - I hadn't looked too closely at your avatar! I'll try not to fail on that score going forward!
  15. Excellent! @lozkerr and @Trueno smaller / lighter pedalboards have been awarded an exemption by chief monk, so you're good to stay in a while yet gents. Haha - exactly how much was that used Digitech pedal? 😁
  16. @bassfan & @Sibob is getting a smaller pedalboard (or indeed any form of pedalboard) a "fail"? Kinda feels like it's entirely in the spirit of not getting more gear. Costs no more than a decent set of strings (which are defo allowed) and it's not exactly a swanky Sandberg is it?! Any leniency here refs?
  17. Well you'll be supporting a great British team, so it's in a worthy cause! Surprised you didn't "accidentally" order a custom bass, or is this pedal malarkey just a ruse to disguise some such sinister sneaky sequestration?!
  18. +1 all the above! Loved it! Got me checking out Jaydee basses. But I'm not sure that they make 5ers (wallet says "phew")?
  19. My understanding is that the 1024 and 2024 are pretty identical in a lot of aspects, neck dimensions included. But that the oil finish on the 2024 is better.
  20. I think there's a typo Dave on the Legacy 500 spec you quoted. If it's 300W at 4ohms and 450W at 2.7ohms then 500W at 2ohms is very plausible. Needs to be paired with two 4ohm cabs to deliver that 2ohm load, so entirely feasible.
  21. Yeah, agreed - that actually does look very tasty! And the Ric's not too shabby either 😁
  22. Yup, as an example outstanding sales pitch for our beloved brand, can't see how that's gonna fail to nail it. 😁
  23. I guess my real disappointment here is seeing our leader dropped by a Digitech pedal. I was expecting a man of bassfan's calibre and class to be felled by something amazing like a new custom Shuker bass or similar. But nope, it's an used Digitech pedal... *sigh*
  24. @dave_bass5strongly recommended you follow @cetera's excellent advice. I certainly did! ...and get a Spector 😁
