  1. Oh I went down that particular rabbit hole a while back and am still down there... Apart from small matter of a GT 1000 multifx included? That's the killer addition for me: Boss SY-300 (around £500) + Boss GT-1000 Core (around £620) vs Boss SY-1000 all in one box for £850 to £900.
  2. You do know that there is a very high correlation with you making comments like that and dips in my savings? 😁
  3. FWIW - penny has finally dropped for me on which pedals I particularly hate PC editing: it's those that don't have a sufficiently decent on-board display to let you know what parameters you're tweaking or at the very least which patch you're on! Most multifx's do have a half decent display and, given the breadth of what you sounds you can get out of them, make it worth the time investment (for me anyway) of getting up to speed with another set of PC editing software.
  4. Thanks Woody - I guess the lower case "sy" was what defeated my search attempt You're right its just the 13 pin GK interface. The 24 to 13 was this: https://www.joness.com/gr300/bc13_S.htm - but that's for older tech so unlikely to be relevant. The question I should have asked is how vital is the 13 pin GK interface for stuff we are likely to use this pedal for on bass? On the cost side, as someone on TB pointed out, if I'm thinking of getting the GT 1000 Core (which I as you know, I have been), then for the cost of an SY-1 or C4 on top, you can have one of these but with a synth engine that is very much more capable than the SY-1...at least that's how I'm going to justify it to the missus (and then obviously deal with the follow up question of what's a Boss SY-1? 😁) All the advantages of presets / disadvantages of loss of immediacy of dials. But as it's also doubling up as a multifx I won't mind investing the headspace involved in PC editing, which this will need, as a substitute for my Helix HX Effects which I've just recently sold.
  5. @Kiwi don't know if you have had a chance to look at this as an alternative to your C4? @Quatschmacher - as our resident synth guru, be great to have your thoughts on how you think this might stack up vs the some of the current top line synth pedals (FI and C4 in particular)? @Woodinblack - 24 to 13 pin convertor a must have or just a nice to have for this?
  6. Not sure that this has had it's own dedicated thread, so I thought I'd start one. When this was announced at NAMM 2020 I mistakenly thought this was just an eye wateringly expensive synth pedal and didn't pay it too much attention. But turns out it does a whole lot more by incorporating a bunch of effects from Boss' flagship GT-1000 multifx - which I've only recently become more familiar while checking out their newly released GT-1000 Core. If that's correct and it's delivering as a multifx, customisable synth engine and with 8 stomp switch form factor for ease of live use in package slightly larger than a Helix HX Effects, I think this could be worth investigating further. https://www.boss.info/uk/products/sy-1000/

Sold a pedal to Martin. Super easy transaction and great comms throughout - pleasure to deal with! Cheers AK
  8. It's the working man's (and woman's!) BB P34!
  9. "Digital" noise with some of the fx on the B1-4 if you listen very very carefully. But lost completely at volume and / or mid phrase. There was also some electrical interference noise with a previous PSU - but that hasn't been an issue at all with my HB IsoBrick. Maybe I've just got used to it! 😁
  10. Well I'm a massive fan of the 1024/1025s, as I'm sure everyone on this thread is bored of me saying! So whoever picks up that 1024x is in for a treat!
  11. @AndyTravis...somebody mention a Yammy bass in orange (albeit slightly burnt)? 😉
  12. Speaking of Yammy BB 735As just realised what's really holding me back from getting one: if they did a white finish I would get one today! Ok I'm shallow...
  13. All of the above points I agree with - except that they are all positives for me! I love my cabs to have clarity and articulation and the F112 delivers this in spades (and I'm sure the BB2 will too). Here's a clip I've posted elsewhere of the F112 in action, live - have a listen through decent headphones if you can - I thought the bass cut through / sounded fine in the mix?
  14. Pulling you onto this thread if I may. I've actually now got both a BB2 and a Fearless 112 - one of the pitfalls of starting a thread eh? 😁 I've not, unfortunately, had a chance to try the BB2 out in anger yet as I literally bought just a few days before the national lockdown was announced back in March - so I would recommend you check the opening posts for some really good comparisons - particularly @funkle's. And you'll have probably seen that there is a vgc F112 on for a great price in the FS - I've been very tempted to get it myself as a pairing for my existing F112, but I suspect there won't be too many occasions with my bands that would justify having a pair of them on stage!
  15. Probably one for the Yammy store in London - drop them an email?
  16. Yup and if a BB 2005 comes up at the same price...!
  17. I'm not a C4 owner - but what an amazingly generous resource to be providing for free to your fellow bass-players. Bravo mate!
  18. Just clicked on a couple of Yammy 735As and was gobsmacked by their current new retail prices! Actually there is one place still selling them at the old prices...Bass Direct (£749), but a couple of retailers were in the £850 ball park and the Yammy store in London has it on for an eye watering £934!
  19. In very good condition - new in Mar 2018 and has been well looked after by both me and its former owner. If you fancy a lightweight (22 lbs) top quality addition to your sound then this could be just the ticket. Comes with bespoke Roqsolid fitted cover (worth around £40 to £50) included in the price. Collection or happy to meet up half way within a reasonable distance of E London (and will courier if you twist my arm).

I can't be bothered to do that.
  21. One so far in the US 😁 And it would only likely apply to Stomp owners on this specific point, anyway, as HX Effects has a few more blocks already. I think his key point is that the limitation on blocks arises because Helix is over-engineering their sims? Which is the corollary of your point that a lot of guitar effects are pretty simple. - I was more interested if you, as one of our BC electronics experts, agrees he makes a fair point? Be very interesting to see if Helix allow more blocks in the Stomp on their next software update.
  22. Interesting observation from the US thread: "As for the power comparison, this is where I put on my computer scientist hat and respond: Who cares? The only measurable end-to-end benchmark unit here is the number of effects you can stack. Boss runs circles around the big Helix in that department, actual processor specs don't matter. Maybe Line 6 is wasting (edit: replace wasting with spending, perfect emulation may matter more to some than having more effects) all those computation cycles on emulating the amps and effects down to minute details, but to my ears Boss was as good as any other digital box."
  23. But it's not true across the board is it? British Leyland?? Dammit you're right about that bloody bass! How come you've not mentioned that before and more to the point how come I never noticed? It's going straight back to Wunjos. I'll just pretend I was the original purchaser...
  24. Sounds? Come on, he doesn't actually use it! It's on display in his front room 😁
  25. Very well loved from what I can tell. Only issue: Tech 21 in their wisdom have discontinued and there a bit hen's teeth!
