Does modern mean still alive?

I love Anthrax but i don't honestly think they ever bettered the Among the Living album. Iron Maiden seem to make every song they write an epic nowadays. It's been good recently seeing Rock Goddess make a comeback with their original lineup. I wish the Hamsters and Dumpys Rusty Nuts were still playing but i don't think we'll see them back. I still regularly go to see Hawkwind and the Hawklords.

The other night i practiced Lydian, Ionian, Mixolydian, Dorian, Aeolian, Phrygian and Locrian scales for around 3 hours. I have learned the note positions and i got the scales smooth and quite tight. Tonight i tried the same exercises again and my fingers tripped over themselves all the way through. My remedy for this was to put the bass down and make a cuppa then chillout. As has been said above it's not a race. Set reasonable goals and reasonable time limits but don't beat yourself up if you miss a few deadlines.

Might as well sell all his gear.....

A few practice *hours/days/weeks *delete as appropriate. Have been put in there.

I know you have a tuner but a TC Electronic Polytune Clip on.....execellent bit of kit and around 35 quid 👍

The grass is always greener on the other side.....for this reason i normally see most basses 6 string and under as pretty cool. Of course as soon as i buy one they become way less cool but i hope that somebody with the same affliction as i covets my bass as i covet their. 😆

I am lucky enough to have many other interests. Bass playing is enjoyable. Gigging can be enjoyable and learning new things about music via bass is enjoyable but they aren't essential to me.

I have a 305 and i really like it. The eq presets are really handy and the active preamp is good. Build is as you'd expect from Yamaha. I find the sound from the massive pups very versatile too. It's not too expensive and imho you get a lot of bass for your money.

Do your utmost to try and protect it. If unfortunately it does get damaged as long as the instrument is playable and nodody died then.....👍 Continue to play it

What sounds shocking to you may be another players tonal aspiration. It really is wide and varied.
