1. Bump As promised here are some additional pictures, note - this is still available
2. I go through phases of preferring one sound over another, but 'issues' present themselves, if for instance, I'm playing a passive bass for any length of time and change to an active bass without thinking about the EQ and its various options, I can rapidly lose patience with the active system, I accept that this is down to me, not the bass. If you can't manage the battery, have spares etc. Active basses may not be for you.
3. I'll get some additional photos added to the listing showing the generally good condition of the unit - This may not be today. Not wanting to cause a panic in the 'buying a used PBJ flight case community' but I have had interest via PM - first to commit to buy, first served - deposits are not necessary. I'd much prefer to meet up and hand the amp over - I'm currently working in Warrington and will gleefully meet at a local motorway services, pub car park, Starbucks etc..Price £300. Or, the price is £325 Posted in the UK - I can box it up with some bubble wrap, but this is the least preferred option. Note - money will need to be in my account before I do anything. Please note my feedback and the kind comments from 'Teadrinker' above
4.
If anyone is thinking of PJB I can highly recommend their amps. I bought this seller's PB300 and he is a great, honest guy so don't miss out on a fantastic amp at a great price.
Aww Shucks
5. I've never understood the significance of what a critic may think of anything, I just like what I like.
6. One strategy is to stay away from the internet and Basschat for sale forums..
7. The Fight case is very much available, it is in full working order - if you want some more photos let me know if there are specific angles you would like.
8. We only use backline for monitoring, If it gets too loud, this for me an indication that something is out of control. At rehearsal we stop and sort it out; live we get the sound man to do this I use ear-plugs and have done for years.
9. See modified post PB300 sold - Flight case now £325 inc UK postage.
10. I played a Thunderbird at a function gig once - great sound, no-one cared, but the Thunderbird shape wasn't for me.
11. As a bass player, I usually have a 'Oh what bass is that then..?' moment eg Dave Swift on 'Hootenanny' then forget about it and listen to what's on offer. I find Fender derivative basses comfortable and that's what I play.
12. I'm likely to offer work into the UK e.g. Shuker or Overwater for the custom build that I've been planning rather than getting something made in EE, purely because I think its important to try and support small UK businesses.
13. Goosebumps are my independent of genre measure for whether I like something or not.
14. I saw Scott Thunes playing with Zappa in the early 80's, this was a big influence on my playing and I've been failing miserably at playing a P bass with a pick ever since.
15. We hire a PA which we all go through for £250 this includes lights and is the same whether its a pub or corporate 'do' - this comes with soundman, set up / re-rig and transport Individual gear = individual responsibility All money split equally after PA cost deducted from gig funds.
16. £325 Inc UK postage For sale my Phil Jones flight case combo, I bought the flight case from here in 2015 - Shown here on top of the recently sold PB300 The combo comes with a high quality padded cover, PM for further or specific photos. Price includes UK postage Stupid offers will be ignored. Bank transfer or Cash on handover.
17. While I believe the right thing to do is to return the instrument. I am interested in whether this is how Sandbergs are set up - I owned one, but during this period of ownership I didn't need to lower the strings to touch the frets. What can say is while they are made to a price point, they are well constructed and I would be surprised if their manufacturing / assembly / machining processes / final QC all conspired to let a 'lemon' creep out of the door. Stranger things have happened and I hope that you get sorted.
18. ^ Sandberg saddles are flat. The bridge is a design that I like and thought has gone into it, again I don't think that this issue* will be unique to this guitar. *May not be an issue to others.
19. I didn't meet Vic - I spoke to him a number of times on the phone and bought a number of items from BG - He was always warm, engaging and enthusiastic, remembering me from my purchases. Very sad news.
