1. Welcome, Joe, nice nostalgic intro there.
2. Nice intro - welcome
3. As I'm usually on foot with a heavy gig bag on my back, no spare basses for me...
4. Lovely song. No tab but the bass part is quite straightforward - maybe this will help?
5. Hi Ian Nice intro - welcome. See you around here, Doug
6. Next gig this Saturday night...
7. Had a gig with Sibilla last night upstairs in a Whitechapel pub. First gig with our new drummer and guitarist - went quite well and the people there seemed to enjoy it. (Punters rarely notice mistakes, do they? There were a few ). Using the house rig, I was playing through a tiny Peavey combo (no DI to PA at this venue), the guitarist through a hefty Marshall stack - oh, well! We had a photographer there so may post some gig pictures if anyone's interested. Cheers Doug

Hi

I love the Jesus Lizard too - welcome
10. Just watched this - excellent stuff. Isaac Hayes 'Hot Buttered Soul' clips = gold.
11. What a great looking set-up - congratulations!
12.
Yup - it's pretty straightforward - especially with the paint. It's amazing how much the things start to quieten down with a bit of decent cable, a decent earth and some screened cavities. I'm surprised that a MIJ has no screening... did you manage to take a look inside?
Aye, had a look last night. The only screening was a piece of copper at the bottom of the control cavity; nothing in the pickup cavities (as I expected).
13.
Dave off Chas & Dave uses Joe Meek gear. Irrelevant like, but there you go.
Chas & Dave are never irrelevant, how dare you...
14.
Offers are free to make
And a price will help move things along for you. Good luck with the sale.
15. Funnily enough, I've been thinking of doing just this to my MIJ 75RI Jazz - going to take a look at its innards tonight first. The brush-on shielding paint looks straightforward.
16. Just to say, I made my first visit to the Gallery in Camden today and picked up a Ritter gig bag. What a wonderful place...
17. Sibilla has more London dates coming up: Wednesday 17 September @ Hope & Anchor, Islington - onstage 8pm Friday 26 September @ White Hart, Whitechapel - onstage 9pm Check out our MySpace page for venue details. Cheers Doug
18.
one of the main problems with denmark st. (of which there are many) is that most of the shops there are now owned by the same company - so they all carry the same stock! daft, but true. sound control (if it's still there!?!) on oxford st. was where i've ended up on many a very disappointed occasion.
I think Sound Control is gone now - anyone know?
19. Thanks for your suggestions, guys. I would go down the eBay route, as I said, but need to pick something up pronto this weekend. Any suggestions for London shops with decent stock?
20. Hello everyone I need to buy a padded soft gig bag for some forthcoming gigs, and am going to buy one in London on Saturday. (I would use eBay but need it asap.) Something like this with pockets for pedals etc. would be good. Can anyone recommend a shop in town? Thanks Doug
21. 'Tis a beauty - good luck with the sale.
22.
Well, the sound I've been using with them is just my normal setup with possibly a bias towards the low mids and rolled off a little bit on the bridge pickup. Songs in the set include: Caroline Roll Over Lay Down Something 'bout You Baby I Like Big Fat Mama Rain 4500 Times Don't Waste My Time In My Chair Backwater Rockin' All Over The World Bye Bye Johnny Roadhouse Blues Down Down Whatever You Want ....etc!
No 'Matchstick Men'?
23. Desperate times, as you say, as this is a very handsome bass. There are a few nice Jazzes on here just now, so it seems a buyer's market.
24. Nice, but I'd rather have Etienne's P-Bass from here for half the £££s.
