1. Just got my ticket for the Sunday. Haven't been to either of the guitar shows in a few years now, looking forward to it. I'm not a really regular poster on here but I shall make my way over to the stand and say hello
2.
I love it when things work out!
Me too
3. Pm sent!
4. Seriously love it when the strings sound 'loose' like that, if you know what I mean. Awesome playing !
5.
My Amps: Klick My Basses: Klick
Don't think I've been this jealous of a bass collection before.
6. Thats the one! (but in black ) I'm not worried about having dummy knobs, but I think volume, pickup pan, tone for each pickup would only leave the two holes from the mid control + switch. I did think about adding some kind of switchable effect there, just for a mess about, but we'll see how I get on with the pre first. Or.... I do some experimenting by swapping out the pickups first, and If I get what I want then change the mid control for an active/passive switch? No idea how easy/difficult this is so just ideas for now.
7. Hi all, Want to upgrade the Pre & Pickups in my Yam BB605. I love the bass, but don't feel like I get much out of the eq/pickups compared to my other basses, so it'd be nice to upgrade it. I wouldn't mind going for something Passive, would be (easier to install?) and nice to have a simple layout on the bass. At the moment it has; Volume, Pickup Pan, Bass, Treble, and a switchable mid (which I never use) - so plenty of holes ready. Any recommended brands I should be looking at? I had a quick look online but a point in the right direction would be great. Thanks!
8. Beautiful. Have a bump.
9. Haha beaten to it. What he said
10. Your after a loop pedal of some sort. There are a few to choose from, depending what you want when it comes to playback time, onboard memory etc. They range from simple one stomp units to bigger (and more expensive) units for controlling multiple layers, effects and pitch/tempo of loops. I recently bought a Digitech Jamman and love it, not the most capable pedal but perfect for what I need. Check out www.looperpedalreviews.com loads of info there!
11. Good point! You don't get a lot for your money over there. A travel guitar of some kind will probably be what I go for.
12. I use an Ashdown LG1000 as a power amp, run my Pod X3 Live into the line in, works well for me. Small, lightweight and only 200 odd new from thomann. Comes with rack ears as well!
13. I won't be able to not play, I went away for a month last year and had real trouble! Love the idea of something acoustic for jamming/busking, thanks!
14. Going to be going to Oz with the girlfriend for a year next winter, wondering if anyone has done the same and what they did when the need to play music came? Obviously I cant drag a bass around with me, so I was thinking about getting a travel guitar of some sort, and maybe buy a bass/guitar when I'm there that I could sell/give away (depending on the price) when we want to move around. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Marshall.
15. Bump for a price drop. Now £140. Going on Ebay tonight!
16. bump! all offers considered...would rather sell to someone on here than fund evilbay.
17. Thought I'd offer this up on here before it hits Gumtree/Ebay. Had it a few years, been gigged although I've taken good care of it, it does have a few marks and dings but only the usual wear related stuff, no serious damage and it plays really well when its set up nicely! It is fine at the moment but it could do with a new set of strings and a set up. Super skinny neck as it would being an Ibanez, really well suited for Heavy Rock/Metal playing styles. I put a Seymour Duncan in the Bridge although the stock pickups were pretty good so I left the 'Infinity 1' in the neck. Usual Vol/Tone/5 way selector set up. For more pictures please message me with an email address and I'll get some over to you asap! After £160 delivered (uk only), will consider all offers so please don't be afraid to ask! If you want to collect its in Benfleet, Essex, although I can deliver if your not too far from me, and if your further I may be able to make a trip for the fuel costs. I am in Canterbury every other weekend so If you on route/in that area I can drop it to you there as well. Thanks for looking! Marshall.
18. Thanks for that, awesome reviews. Think the vox lil looper + footswitch may be ideal! And less £££.
19. Just after so advice/tips really, as have started a drum and bass hip hop style trio, and want to be able to do as much as possible live, no laptops/backing tracks. Wondering what gear to start looking at, had a look at the boss & digitech loopers, the digitech looking pretty good to me at the moment, decent prices on thomann as well. What do you do when it comes to using sequencers/samplers, is it fairly easy to record parts live and bring them in & out of the mix? Advice from anyone with this kind of set up would be great! Thanks in advance! Marshall.
20. I'm in need of a looper now, anyone have any experience with the Digitech JamMan Stereo? Looks to be the best value for money looper new. Cheers, Marshall.
21. From todays practise:
22.
Hartke LH500 -> Gallien Krueger 212MBE My hunt for a new cab is complete and here it is in front of the old ones. When I first bought the 410xl I got told it was a 400w cab, which it isn't, but I only found that out after I upgraded to the LH500, it was distorting after gigs on it's on so I've had to gig with a full stack since then, no matter what the venue, which was a pleasant inconvenience The weight of the GK is roughly a quarter of the weight of the two old cabs combined, so this should make my life a lot easier.
Great cabs. Is that the 4 or 8ohm? I got one of these with the intention of getting two, but its not needed! How is it with the hartke?
23.
My little trouser flapper..
Nice! What do the footswitches do?
24. That mesa rig is awesome, I'd love a set up like that!
