Lindy Fralin!

Ahh, great to see there is a thread on these great amps. I got the Mono off here a few months back in a trade and have to say so far i love it. I've mostly used it at home in a different home project band but am now feeling ready to gig it sometime soon with my main functions band. I have the Markbass foot pedal too and finally think I've got my head around it now...it has been a slow process learning it to be honest. As previously mentioned It would be great to have a patch sharing space

I hear you man. I tired a 74' 4001 18 months ago in a local shop, thinking that they're twangy odd looking things and thought i'd never get on with them, that bass sound and vibe really stuck with me.....so recently i bought a 1975 4001 - and....simply amazing!

I hate hearing this song, but don't mind playing it!

Higher & Higher, bores me to death with repetivness - yet I don't mind play Cobhams Stratus which is also repetitive ...but we don't do that number in a weddings band.....shame -
Jeez. I've been dying for one of these. Literally no way i can afford this though... Was tempted to float you a trade offer for my lightweight gk amp and can.... And then i realised i wouldn't have an amp! Im gonna list some stuff for sale, if i can miraculously get £600 together from it, then I'll be back! Theo
Go for it Theo, you will not be disappointed. Surprised it's still here....however means I get to play it longer

It's all a bit strange this one. I feel for anyone having a bass stolen, I know I would be gutted if one of mine was stolen. Is it not possible to confront the culprit if his digital whereabouts can be traced? I'd be happy to speak on behalf of a basschatter if something went wrong in my local area (Risk perhaps?...don't worry being a social worker I have good police/legal back up when it comes to risk ) Anyhow I hope this gets resolved for all parties involved

The Roland micro cube is perfect for busking and surprisingly loud. I used it briefly doing some stuff with seven djembe players (loud) and it cut through sweetly. Incidentally mine is in the for sale section haha - great amp!
When I had one it was neck on full, bridge on full (then backed-off about 1/8th turn), tone on full. Then fart about trying to play that pencil-thin neck like a big fairy gay then rush straight back to a P-Bass, which is the bass of choice for proper men.
Is this a discriminating dig at homosexual obesse fairies who have a penchant for the superior Fender?

Depends on the genre for me, Reggae, bridge perhaps 10% N 100% & T 0%...I use some tone for definition every now and then. Dub as above but bridge 0% Modern funk, all 100% but I adjust the tone for taste (all tastes like chicken to me ) Vintage soul N 100% B 50% T 50%...this is my most common setting. Fusion/Jazz, I like N 0% B 100% T 50%-0% These are just my preference. I'm sure fingers & feel, strings and amps account for a lot of the sound too. Also my favourite is to have the concentric pots set up and have tone on each pick up...loads of variations to be had.

I like that a lot! Not that I can afford to have more GAS. What's the weight like?

SOLD This is a great little combo but sadly last years street busking band didn't ever get off the ground so its had little use other than be my studio bass rig. A recent purchase of another smaller amp on here has made this one 'probably' redundant. Runs off 9V PSU (standard boss type) or battery operated for portable busking etc, various FX, tuner built in, drum machine built in and amp modelling too. Can be carried on a guitar strap and surprisingly loud for such a little amp. Quite a superb bit of kit really Full detail here: http://www.roland.co...o_cube_bass_rx/ Stock pic: I still have the box but not the original carry strap or 9V PSU. The effects are great, particularly the envelope filter. £100 posted, or £90 collect from Plymouth.

Er.. (Popcorn thread alert) ......Jaco, Miller, Graham, Bailey, Bootsy, Barrett et al....sorry Mr Jamerson but the Jazz tops the bill for me. Although I do like a good P; currently have a custom build P/J underway (prefer the thinner neck too)...but if it came to crunch my 1974 jazz all the way
