1. Hello all, Any tips on who would build a 70's Jazz replica neck ? specifically looking for an early 70's maple with blocks, aged, and yes a 'F' logo 'U' type shape - the same that I already have on my 74. Was thinking MJT in the USA but wondered if there are any people in the UK who do this sort of thing? Thanks in advance for replies.
2. SOLD Selling this lovely cab as i barely use it since getting my Markbass combo in which i use my 2x10" as the extension cab. Indonesian made (totally as good as the Italian ones IMO ). 400W @ 8ohms & tweeter, bit of the normal age bobbling on the covering but nothing tragic, sounds great and no issues. Has a Roqsolid cover with a large Velcro close pocket (this cost me £50). All in all a great cab and a very light one hand carry. Specs http://www.markbass....etail.php?id=97 £220 Collected from Plymouth or + £20 P&P (if courier costs more I'll cover it, if less then I'll refund). 3. I've killed my 76 P pickup when a wire came off the pick up, I tried to resolder and now no resistance at all...it's dead Any recommendations where I could send it to get fixed? Thanks in advance
4.
Lovely bass ,and i have been trying very hard to resist...hmm
I'm surprised it's still here mate to be honest.....i do love it but it's not getting a look in since the Ricky landed, even though the Lakland is the better player. It's too nice to sit in a case. I'm sure if someone played it they'd take it easily, it's a top quality build, sound and look.
5. Trades up, down and in between...or simply cash bump
6. Bob's live album 'Babylon by Bus' - great album. Many bands but Culture are worth a good look
7.
How do. I thought these were heavy basses - is the 8.3lbs weight what you recorded? Anyway, have a BUMP!
Nope this bass is a lovely and accurate 8.3lbs on digital scales. Although it is a wonderful heavy sound but lightweight on the feel
8. Super amps these, I have the mono. The sounds, amp modelling, and FX are top notch Markbass quality and the amp itself is easy to use too, at first it may appear daunting but it is very easy. Very light as well. A lot of amp for the money at this price - especially with the foot pedal too. GLWTS
9. A lovely bass for blues on a Sunday afternoon bump - warm defined tones that cut through the mix sweetly. ...and try me on trades, you never know
10.
W.H.Y?
Mean's 'What Have You got'....perhaps technically it should be WHYG - I also wondered for years what it was on here until someone explained it to me too, I'm sure you're not alone and we may have enlightened another
11. Lindy Fralin!
12. Ahh, great to see there is a thread on these great amps. I got the Mono off here a few months back in a trade and have to say so far i love it. I've mostly used it at home in a different home project band but am now feeling ready to gig it sometime soon with my main functions band. I have the Markbass foot pedal too and finally think I've got my head around it now...it has been a slow process learning it to be honest. As previously mentioned It would be great to have a patch sharing space
13. I hear you man. I tired a 74' 4001 18 months ago in a local shop, thinking that they're twangy odd looking things and thought i'd never get on with them, that bass sound and vibe really stuck with me.....so recently i bought a 1975 4001 - and....simply amazing!
14. Higher & Higher, bores me to death with repetivness - yet I don't mind play Cobhams Stratus which is also repetitive ...but we don't do that number in a weddings band.....shame
15. Trades added for 4/5 string basses only W.H.Y.
16.
Jeez. I've been dying for one of these. Literally no way i can afford this though... Was tempted to float you a trade offer for my lightweight gk amp and can.... And then i realised i wouldn't have an amp! Im gonna list some stuff for sale, if i can miraculously get £600 together from it, then I'll be back! Theo
Go for it Theo, you will not be disappointed. Surprised it's still here....however means I get to play it longer
17. It's all a bit strange this one. I feel for anyone having a bass stolen, I know I would be gutted if one of mine was stolen. Is it not possible to confront the culprit if his digital whereabouts can be traced? I'd be happy to speak on behalf of a basschatter if something went wrong in my local area (Risk perhaps?...don't worry being a social worker I have good police/legal back up when it comes to risk ) Anyhow I hope this gets resolved for all parties involved
18. PM's replied ....still ere' Don't under estimate it...watch this: www.youtube....h?v=X6TOB4udSPs http://www.youtube....h?v=X6TOB4udSPs
19.
I love the look of the skylines but I'm a sea-foam guy all over.
You could get a respray still here folks...quality bit of kit.
