1.
I've seen plenty of bargains go untouched on here lately mate, it seems many people (myself included) just aren't spending much at the mo! For what it's worth, I saw one of those combos go for over £380 on eBay last week so you may get more joy there. Good luck with the sale, I have one and it's a great amp.
Cheers buddy, yeah may try the bay...got a few people interested though...just PM'd them back-cheers.
 2. If i could sell my EA iamp350 combo i'd have this off you in a flash as i have just bought the awesome Jeff Berlin combo off 'Onehappybunny' and i'd love the extension cab for the headroom! I may bay the EA in the next couple of days, if i do and it sells.....i'll be back (unless you want a deal on the EA? also thinking of passing my Sansamp 3 channel bass driver deluxe on if your interested, fairly new?)
 3. I play mainly reggae/dub bass, well with a name like Rasta i'm sure it's no surprise Anyhow, for a bass i can recommend the small headless Hohners (B2A?) or Steinbergers - light as a feather and something very irie about their phat sounds! I used to have one and am considering getting one again but probably a 4 string as i found the 'B' a little flappy on the 5. Experimenting with an envelope filter can also generate some low dubby tones if the filter is not fully opened, i personally don't use effects but i have tried it out in the studio and was quite impressed. As for big speakers, well i got a 6x10...i generally prefer this over 15" & 18" as it shifts more air efficiently and if you hunt around you can pick up the odd 6x10 or 8x10 pretty cheap. Most reggae bassists favour the fridge, Ampeg 8x10...but i have to say the Warwick i use is pretty close to that sound and at 900W is rarely ticking over. Having said all this i use a Jazz bass or P bass and lately have just started using a 15" cab for another band where i play reggae, ska and funk and i am loving the sound of the 15" again...but the good thing about the rig in my aviator (Eden WT800 & Warwick 6x10 900W) is that it just ticks over at a phat sound and the engine is never screaming....so smooth n phat and you can feel it in your belly! General rule of thumb from what i have seen, if you want dub...you want big (simple fizix) - and back ache for life PS diggin the Dub Trio, never heard of em' before but reminding me a bit like Ozrics ish
 4. Eden's great stuff , i have a 7-8yr old WT800A still going strong! Good luck with the bidding.

 6. Lakland Skyline JO's or the DH's are more than worthy a look. I have a Jazz and a JO.....the JO is amazing!
 7. For me it has to be: 1st 3 (in no particular order) 1.Bootsy Collins (For being purely funky, not the most technical by far...but just pure gratuitous fonk) 2. Aston Familyman Barret (For being the most rounded beautiful PERFECT melodic and phat deep bassist ever) 3. Jaco Pastorius (Nuff said!) Gonna be cheeky and have another 3...i know its rude but blah blah 1. Robbie Shakespeare (For being the second best most rounded beautiful PERFECT melodic and phat deep bassist ever after Familyman) 2.Louis Johnson (For having the maddest fingers and beating up basses by slappin' em' to bits) 3.Larry Graham (For being a beautiful nice peace lovin hippy who'd probably choose 6 top bassists when only asked to choose 3) Clarke, Miller, Wooten....ah i'll get my coat now!!! Peace out
 8. Here is a pic of the EAIamp 350 , i'll send some more pictures when i get my camera tonight. The Iamp is a great piece of kit, but alas i have a Mark bass combo with a 15" on the way which will suit my needs better.
 9.
Had quite a few enquiries about this & just wanted to confirm it is an 8 ohm cab
Shizzle was gonna ask if you wanted to swap for an EA Iamp Combo 350W but alas i see you already have one! Shame i'm skint!
 10.
Hey Rasta, I'm afraid I'm strictly after a second EBS 2x10, though that is a tempting offer but it would be a bit silly to have both the EBS rig and the EA. Thanks though man, Josh.
No worries, good luck with the sale...great cab!
 11.
Is no one after decent cabs anymore? Bump.
Swap for an EA Iamp 350W combo with detachable head ????? I'm fairly local too!
 12. Have a bump for a great bass guitar. I got a blue JO5 in a 3 way exchange with Thunderthumbs and i have to say its quite possibly the best bass i have played with the Fralin PU's. Solid B, lovely neck, amazing tones, Pots that actually work smoothly up and down!, i bloody loves it! It whips my 75 reissue fender by miles! I tried a DH and yeah similar but the Fralins on the JO does it for me. A fantastic jazz bass, imo better than fender, and i shall pick up this appreciation post with the new buyer......
 13.
you have a PM
did this sell, how much????
 14.
I may be very interested, but am afraid postage would be the only option.... I live just outside Blackpool. Cheers, Matt
I've already bought it matey...sorry
 15.
There might be a fair amount of ambiguity as to whether it's actually G7 or Gm7. It can be fun to mess around with that by putting in some bluesy minor 3rd - Major 3rd slides.
Thanks for all your advice and support guys, i pulled off my first solo lastnight basically around the G mix and pentatonic...it went well judging by the comment i got from the percussionist who said it reminded him of Stanley Clarke...ahem...that'll do for me sir. I sang my solo as well...friggin freaked the living daylights out the others as i never sing or say anything lol....lovin it' thanks again guys.
 16.
Gotta admit, bit stumped as to what to suggest really. Here goes though... This is a very basic way to look at it, but look at the context of the song, i.e. what type of a piece is it? Does it feel funky? does it feel bluesy? How does it 'feel'? I find my note choice is often swayed by the this. If it is funky, as you say, I would suggest mixolydian as a start (1 2 3 4 5 6 b7; G A B C D E F). Then, learn which notes you naturally feel pushed towards in the song, often the root, but not always. Work out interesting ideas that take you away from (i.e. building tension, and giving a 'shape' to a solo), and then get you back to those 'key' notes (i.e. resolve to those notes), and don't forget about rhythm, dynamics and range to make your solo more interesting (i.e. adding texture and changing the 'shape' of the solo). These are overly simplistic suggestions, but it's how I got started in learning what makes a good solo. Mark
Many thanks Mark, i shall give the Mixolydian a go. I'm never sure which modes go with which chords etc but i can see how the mixolydian has the notes of a dominant 7th.
 17. Hi all, ok...so i'm in total new territory soloing! - I'm jammin some funky stuff with another band and we got this groove based around G pentatonic (G7) and thats about as far as my theory goes. So i want to construct a solo, should it be around the notes of the G pentatonic scale only or can i go elsewhere? the groove is repetitive holding on the G and C notes of the pentatonic minor scale. I'm not too hot on theory but kinda understand modes ish etc...can i play any modesover the G7 chord-as i say I'm groovin' a b-line on a Gm pentatonic. Please forgive my dumbness!
 18. Did you get my PM?...not heard anything back-i'm good to buy if your interested? If its gone no prob's Cheers, rasta
 19.
I recommend you sell the EA combo and use your Eden amp with a new 15" lightweight cab from barefacedbass.com. I use the same driver as the one in the Big Deep One and it goes very low at high volume and is amazingly light.
Niceness, just been checking their website-looks very interesting! What do you reckon to your Big deep one? Did you get the hartke head in the end mate?
 20.
lots of choice out there and I have listed lots of the currently available 112 cabs on the basschat wiki. I would be inclined towards the Aguillar DB for your sound but its not that light.
Thanks for that Bass-ferret, the Wiki made for a good read. I have had another BCer offer the DR bass cabs, does anyone have any experience of these?
 21. Ok, if you see my rig to the left then thats proper back breaking heavy!-i call it 'Wom' as it makes that sound at gigs, i think the 'W' may stand for Wom! - This rig is used in a eight piece reggae band and another heavyweight Dub band in which they all help to carry at gigs etc, otherwise it generally lives in our studio (thankfully). Anyhow, about 3-4 weeks ago i bought a EA Iamp350W combo, from a B/C er, in the hope that it would be suitable for doing some other stuff mainly funk, light reggae, and ska with another band. I had used an EA head before so was quite excited at owning one which lead me to this purchase. Now understandably the EA Iamp 350 (1x10) will not compete with a Warwick 6x10, thats obvious science, but i am looking to get some warmth in a small rig but in some thing that will go upto 350W ish. So i thought to myself i'll keep the EA head and perhaps buy a 2x10 or 1x12 that is lightweight, or at least significantly lighter than the EA Iamp 350 Combo (trust me looks are elusive as it weighs a ton!). I read and totally agree with B/C er Warwickhunt in the lightweight cabs thread that 2x10, 1x12's can give as much lows as 1x15"s therefore i am probably preferring this to a 15" (anyhow i have a heavyweight Fender 15" cab when the need arises). Interestingly i have met so many so called reggae bass heads that insist you need at least a 15" cab or 18" cab to get good reggae bass sound...this frankly is a load of twoddle as most reggae bassists that i have seen use mainly 'the fridge' Ampeg 8x10 or similar, with Bob Marley's bassist (Familyman Barret) being an exception using a 4x10 & 15" generally these days (granted years ago he used 15"s and 18" but that was before the science bit was done about more smaller speakers can move more air more efficiently). So i digress, can anyone recommend a decent lightweight 2x10, or 1x12 or if small and light enough a 15" at 4ohms or alternatively i have seen a Markbass combo Berlin for sale in the for sale section which i believe is a 15' and lightweight...would this be a better option??? (which would eventually mean the EA would be up for sale) - Lightweight and a bit of phat are my needs. My current budget is about £400 + whatever i could get for the EA and + i have an Ampeg 4x10 for sale too which is in the for sale section and has been for a while so i think that'll be off to the evil bay very soon. The wifey may lend me some dosh for the Markbass Berlin combo at a push, and cooking for a fortnight, but only as long as i pay her back after selling the EA etc. Save my sanity....give me direction, guidance, support, therapy, advice...even sheer help! If i'm to keep the EA iamp head then a cab would need to be 4ohms and i need something soon too as i have some of these funk gigs coming up (this will see me having to carry my new rig for the first time in a long time....real bummer, must be light man !) I shall now return to rocking franticly in my chair whilst listening to 'Bitches Brew' backwards!
 22.
Partial trade considered for high end cab (Schroeder or equiv.)
Was postage an option??? Am in negotiations with the wife....bloody hard work! but will be intouch.
