1.
I've got a picture somewhere of a black 'ray with a graphite neck and a non origanil p/up, without the exposed pole pieces, looks sweeeeet! I need to find it for you! Tony
Yeah..... that'll help with the GAS !!! look forward to seeing that !
 2. Hi Guys, prompted by very valid comments made when I put a feeler out to sell the Neck off this Bass due to the impending purchase of a Status Graphite neck, I've decided to see if anyone wants to do a trade for a Black Ray. I bought this from a Friend with the opportunity to try befor I bought..... I really wanted a Black Ray but was very impressed with this instrument and it's an amazing looking instrument in Radient Red Sparkle. (thanks Dub) Will do a deal for a Black 3 Band Ray, not bothered which neck it's got as i'm going for a Graphite Status Neck Would sell for £650 if no deal on a Black Ray.... here's some photo's taken this morning..... bit grey and overcast so the sparkle doesn't really stand out too well, best I could do this morning with my cheap camera ! The Bass is 100% mint..... with not a single mark anywhere on the Instrument Cheers Mark
 3.
id never sell the neck with the stingray, always seperate as you lose too much cash, hence why its best to keep your neck, even more so since its a special edition. youl obviously lose any value you might have had by it being ltd. keep it mate, so you can restore your bass to original specs and get much more money back in the future. as i said, at least wait to see if your 100% happy with the carbon
yeah all fair comment guys..... I'll keep this thread as a feeler for now.... thinking about it, I'm really Gassing for a Black Ray with Graphite Neck so I think I'll end up keeping the Ltd Ed neck and when a Black Ray comes up I can swap necks and sell the LTD Ed as a complete instrument.... Suppose the ideal would be someone with a Black 3 Band Ray looking for a 2004 Ltd Ed Cherry Red Sparkle as a swap !! LOL ! Sounds like a whole new advert !!
 4.
be careful mate, i considered selling my stingray 5's original neck when i upgraded, but decided against it as it would seriously effect the value of the stingray. only sell it if your gunna keep the ray and its status neck, id at least wait until its all fitted and your happy with it. you'll lose alot of cash if you sell the stingray with the status neck in the future
Hmmmm...... possibly not bad advice ! Especially with my track record of buying / selling basses Although with Stingray prices under pressure..... and the "Average" Ray going for around £700 on a good day, how much is there to lose ? What would a Status Necked Ray be worth.... ? I know Kiwi's went for a stupidly low £500 on here 18 months ago but surely it's got to be worth more than that ! Stingrayfan's lovely Black Status / Ray's gotta be worth min £550 ATB Mark
 5. Hi Chaps.... I'm seriously considering changing the Neck on my 2004 Ltd Ed Musicman Stingray to s Status Graphite neck..... I'll be using the Hardware from the neck to put onto the Status..... so i'll have a mint condition Musicman Neck (Rosewood / Black Headstock Gold Lettering) sitting around doing nothing.... So..... if anyone wants to upgrade their SUB / OLP or change from a maple to a Rosewood this would do the Job ! Hope to order the neck tomorrow so it could be available as early as next week..... Cheers Mark
 6. I wish I have enough gigs to justify this...... I really miss my DB750 & DB410 somebody buy this befor I start GASSING and blow up !!
 7. Roland Micro Cube get's my vote..... Impressively big sound for such a tiny box..... loads of features
 8.
Gave this a blast at a pub gig last night. Neck's really fast and smooth, which is great. Sounded good, with nice sustain and plenty of power. Thought it maybe sounded at bit harsh at home but sits nicer with a drummer - totally different sound when up loud. But that's a SR thing, I think. They're not very good "bedroom basses" but plugged through an amp in anger, they do the job brilliantly. Looks the mutts on stage too, really stealth. Bloke in the pub said to me in the break: "like your Stingray mate..." This post is dedicated to Marcus, who's GASsing for one of these really badly.
Yeah thanks mate....... that's helped a lot
 9.
Hi there Would you take a paypal payment for the Flea, I'd pick up any fee's you might incur. 16.
Now that I'd like - just need the £3-400 to sort it (probably worth more than the Ray in the current climate).
Fair Point..... although I did get £750 for my last Ray in about an hour on here.... !
 17. Had my fair share of Statti over the years..... love the tone, feel and playability 5 x Kingbasses (incl MK's Black Beauty proto) 4 x 2000's 4 x S2's (including Strata 16 - sold it to Andre) 2 x Empathy (Headed) 1 x Stealth I like Graphite..... I'm loving the MM / J thing - it has to be THE most versatile PUP set-up Need a good solid Stingray tone for my little dep gig I do every once in a while.... Guess i'd better call Dawn and see what bits are left !! Considering a Status Neck for my Ray..... decisions / decisions ?
 18. Hi Guys, love Status Basses..... always have, had loads but that double soapbar pup configuration never really cut it in a band for me..... Considering a Smart bass with MM / J configuration Any opinions, does it sound like a Stingray with the MM pup solo'd ? ATB Mark
