  1. Thanks Steve. I appreciate that you've now put them on Standby but that last comment on its own would be enough to have me reaching for the Off switch.
  2. The finances of any given website or forum will generally be so opaque as to be quite impenetrable to the Users, and Basschat is no different to that. All of which said, it's hard to understand how such a thriving and successful Forum, with so many subscribing Members and a busy (and paid for) Marketplace can be running short of money.
  3. Personally, I feel honoured and, yes, humbled to be sharing the planet with someone called Dwayne Lafleur. If that name didn't exist, then we would need to invent it.
  4. https://www.ezoic.com/ What does Ezoic do? Ezoic is an adtech platform that uses cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to help publishers improve ad earnings. Ezoic allows website owners to connect with ad networks and access high-paying partners, while also improving their website's user experience. 23 Jul 2023 Who owns Ezoic? Dwayne Lafleur is an entrepreneur, hands-on technologist, founder and CEO of venture-backed start up Ezoic Inc. Previously, Dwayne founded Cubics, the first display ad network for Facebook app developers. What is the minimum payout for Ezoic? Our affiliate payout terms operate on a 30-day net payment for the previous month (i.e. September earnings would be paid out at the end of October). In order to receive payment, you will need to add a payment method to your affiliate account and earn a minimum of $20 in commission.
  5. 78 votes so far ... will we hit the ton, I wonder?
  6. Don't think I've ever seen a Musician Wanted ad that quoted cash fees, and not at all sure that I want to be ahead of the curve on that. But thanks anyway.
  7. I wondered how long it would be before I heard from you. 😂 You'd be bloody ideal, too.
  8. His videos on keyboards are pretty decent, mind.
  9. Is a URB like an ERB, only Unextended?
  10. Exactly ... that's why I'd prefer an identifiable sub-forum specifically for PA.
  11. I'd love to do that, Steve, only it's not working. Something went wrong. Check the values provided on the marked tabs and try again. Naturally, NO tabs were "marked".
  12. Demand - I suspect really quite a lot. The PA for most bands seems to be run by (or at least involve) the bass player. Value - see "Demand" (above). Clutter - the site already has 34 topic groups (if I ignore Guitarchat at the bottom) and found room for Wotzit Werth. I can't imagine that one more will be enough to drag Basschat into the Abyss ...
  13. All joking aside, I can't imagine how any gigging musician in 2023 can not have available performance video. Every gig I play there will be people in the audience holding up mobile phones ... friends, relatives, bar staff, complete strangers ... and presumably at least some of that always ends up online. I don't bother searching for stuff that others have posted because @Silvia Bluejay and I post enough good-quality performance video to make phone footage irrelevant to us. If someone has none and wants some, just persuade a couple of people to come to their next gig and pre-arange which songs they should video. Footage from two phones in different places (three or more would be better, of course) combined with even the simplest free video editor would be enough to get a basic result sorted.
  14. PLEASE tell me that enormous black box to the left of the notice board was a sub-woofer. 😂
  15. I've been put off from replying to adverts myself in the past by phrases such as "brilliant bass player" or "exciting bass player" or "really good-looking young bass player who can double as a stand-up comedian when the guitarist needs to re-tune again". What this band needs is competence. 😎
