Kiogon built me a wiring loom that is superb, no background noise or humming what so ever. all advice about gear was from bass chat which was brill. MIM black p bass body might mite neck fitted straight in dimarzio dp122 pups kiogon wiring loom 500k pots old school mirror pick guard from ebay excellent quality roto swing 66 110 strings machine heads from shop, horrible with crappy screws i had to replace really pleased with sound i get which is punchy, aggressive,

I am pretty much a novice bass player, learning scales playing tabs etc level of skill?imy first tab was walk on by, stranglers which i can just about get through if i practice enough as only been seriously learning for around 5 months or so. i really want to form a band with similar skilled players etc but is this the right time? should i at least get resonably profficent before i try to jam, form a band with others.i am in my late forties but still want to gig some day but dont want to look a total tit when playing with others what would u want from your bass player if you were an average player etc?

  21. i am building a p bass, partly so my wife does not notice the money going and because i want an agressive old schools type sound i cannot get exactly from my MM sub. so far i have a black gloss mim p bass body, mighty mite maple neck, dimarzio dp122 and a superb kiogon wring loom with 500k pots geared for the old school tone, punk, heavy rock etc, roto swing 66 110s, shcaller tuners (possibly) to round off. i am not sure how it will go but i have learnt everything from the guys on here. lastly i need a pickguard but not sure about colours or quality to go with black, seems to be price ranges from 10.00 to 50.00 where ever i look, any ideas on a decent pickguard and colour? do u really need a decent one? i meant to build the guitar over a couple of months but have purchased everything in under a week
  22. some wicked looked whites, mine are all black but i could be turned!
