i bought a usa sub on here, its black and now has a black gloss pickguard. its pretty heavy but for me its not a problem.i changed to roto 66 110s but back to ernie ball hybrid slinkys and it sounds great. i am building a p bass as well as i want a more aggresive tone as well which i cannot seem to get but i love playing it,

was never into the cure but after reading the posts i will check out the bass lines, any more from that era you would recommend?

i have just bought a mighty mite p bass maple neck without tuners. it previously has shaller tuners (in line) which seem to be a bit scarce to get hold of. What are my options? do i need to measure anything, what are the best uk sourced tuners please

i have just turned 50 and are trying to form a band, still have ambitions lol, so post what it was like at the gig and any tips as well. hard trying to think of a name for the band, if u have a cool/great name i think you can get away with being less than great? looking at characters fro Roald dahl books but the names have all being taken, plus biblical quotes , but the best ones taken again...digressing a bit but good luck

or can anyone rewcommend a good amp head for around £200 to £300 thx, heavy, punk etc

novice question, if i put a jazz neck on a p bass will it limit me with type of strings, prefer heavy gauge, will there be any difference in tone or playabilty, is it entirely down to how u prefer your neck fat or thin?

Hi, i have bought a p bass body (mexican) including gotoh bridge. What pick ups would be best to "try" and create the early stranglers sound? passive active , make etc also what else do i need, wring harness plus any recommendations for a neck? original fender or similar? i like the rotosound 66 110s i have on my musicman so will probably buy the same. thanks

Hi, i have a musicman usa sub and was wondering what strings i could buy that was give the a,d,g strings a heavier sound? not sure whats on at moment, the e string sounds good. i am playing stranglers stuff and sounds good on the E but the others sound a bit too "high", any advice would be helpful... i am fairly new to playing bass so any other advice about amps would be good as well, practising on a roland cube 30w thanks
