    I use D'Addario EXL110+ on 24.75in and 25in scales, Fender Bullet 10s on 25.5in scale - gives a similar feel across the different types. My jazz guitar gets Thomastik Infeld flatwound 12s.

I couldn't find anything I liked in the shops, so I built my own: a 5E3 type and a Vibrolux Reverb.     Hi, I'm new to the forum - apologies if I'm not responding to your ad correctly I've got a recent Squier Jazz bass, around two years old. It's the active 4 string with the black phenolic fretboard and a no scratchplate/no control plate brown sunburst body. It's in great shape aside from a scratch a couple of inches long. I can provide pics if you're interested. Happy to swap plus a bit of cash from me.

    Hi, I'm H and I play bass I started when I was 15, 35 years ago in Liverpool. I graduated to a Ric 4001 with a Marshall amp quickly to accommodate regular gigging. At 21, I moved to the South and everything suddenly stopped. In the meantime, life has happened and I've only recently bought a new bass and got my fingers used to *that* feeling again. OK, I have to admit it, I play guitar more than bass these days. I like recording my own stuff and I'm more than happy playing my own bass lines. I'm looking forward to getting involved on various fronts here: I build tube amps and I'm pretty good with guitar electronics. I'm a middling player on bass - lots of Bruce Foxton going on. I'm fairly decent on the six string - lots of Paul Weller going on there I've played out plenty of times - five years worth of two/three gigs a week in my late teens - but nothing recent. Nice to meet you all
