  1. How I love this thread. I'm going to use all of the transcriptions as sight-reading practice
  2. How about a 'Valve vs Class D' blind test? I'd be happy to throw my SWR in!
  3. Would you rather play the wrong rhythm but hit the right pitches? For me, the rhythm is far more key than the pitch, if absolutes were to exist in this. As a little thought experiement, try this; - Find a small theme, a melody, line or something. - Play the wrong pitches deliberately but keep the rhythm as tight as possible. - Play the right pitches but play the rhythm as poorly as possible. - Observe the difference and make your conclusions from there. Don't worry, I ripped off Victor Wooten on this. I tried to find the video but couldn't. If you can't play the lick intricately and rhythmically sound, don't overcomplicate it. It's very similar to when a drummer tries an audacious fill and makes a hash of it, same concept.
  4. There you go! Just noticed the D is ever so slightly out of tune but just whacked a camera on and went for it. Hope it helps.
  5. Just transcribing it for you. Give me a moment and I'll post a video below.
  6. One I won't miss this time round! Missed the last two right at the last moment and these have always been great.
  7. I'm not sure what you're all on about? Mine's just fine
  8. Going from the data below, it's not a bad shout! SOURCE; https://www.easycalculation.com/other/wood-density-chart.php
  9. There's FeelGoodWood on eBay, some other companies online (there's a couple that come to mind) and if you're feeling particularly lazy about fretboards, head to www.guitarmaking.co.uk. Holly as a wood, though? Interesting to say the least.
  10. Ever seen the Angelus Leather Dyes stuff? I've seen BigDGuitars (I know, what a name) use them to incredible success. Here's some videos below for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBbcKAtKhIo etc....
  11. I'd definitely be interested. I couldn't make it for this years South West one so this'll be great. Count me in!
  12. Beat me to it. The first two I've played in essentially every cover band I've been in. I'll throw in an unpopular one. Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'. I've always found that the audience can tell if the musician is bored as hell on it, you'll get found out VERY quickly.
  13. Would this also work for other woods? I've got a gorgeous bit of 5A flame maple right behind me and this awesome bit of advice has got me thinking.
  14. Now we're cooking with gas, Merton! 😎
  15. Hi, all! Up for grabs is my Peavey Express 112. Made in the US with Sheffield speaker as well as the footswitch and paperwork/instruction manual. I'm based out of West Sussex and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And yes, I'd be happy to listen for trades or p/ex.
  16. 'Really nice' being a slight understatement, huh? 😎
  17. Who here sprays their own guitar builds? What kind of set up do you use? Show it all off! I'm about to dive right into it but I'm a bit lost and unsure where to start. Any advice for a beginner finisher, please?
  18. Hey, it's something different. I personally approve of this!
  19. What about a build from someone here, perhaps?
  20. Up for grabs is my Shure SM58. I bought this second hand originally and hasn't been used since it was purchased a year or two ago. Any questions, please feel free to ask.
