1.
Nice looking bass personally I think you made the right choice
Thanks, I think you're right. This is real nice to play but I reckon a refret will have to happen at some point!

5.
What are the differences between them tonally?
I'd say the '72 is a bit brighter and louder to my ear but I'm definitely no expert. They both have a classic Jazz Bass honk.
6. And here with my 1964.
7.
cor I can see how that was difficult to resist
I'm pathetic!

My recently acquired 1972 Fender Jazz Bass. 9. I was saving money for a Fodera when this came up and scuppered my plans!
10.
I currently have around 16 Fenders and I love their playability and simplicity, tbh having a preamp just makes things complicated for me and a jazz or P bass does everything I need.
Couldn't agree more. And got a gallery with your 16 Fenders? I'd love to see them!
11. I'd like an American made 24 fret Jazz modern player style .

14. Yeah I'm after another SL112 but reckon I'll have to buy new.
15. I was going to place an Item Wanted advert and having browsed the first 10 pages I couldn't see one response or bump and wondered if many people get a lot of success on there.
16. Mad price for a vintage Jazz Bass. I'm very, very surprised this isn't sold mate.
17. I'm not totally sure but I think that if early issues of a De Agostini set don't sell as well as they project that they discontinue the collection before it is actually complete.
18. This piece is magnificent in my opinion. I love it mate.
19. Honestly I can't be bothered dude. I'll stick to the classifieds section
20. Yeah, didn't mean to upset or offend anyone.
21. Oh god, wish I'd never posted this now.
22.
But there's also a lot of people who have come out the other side of financial and family responsibilities. They are in their 50s with the mortgage paid off, the kids if they had any left home etc. Many will have taken "early" retirement or be self-employed and a lot more flexible about taking time out of work to do music. A lot of older musicians are still young at heart or more realistically have really ever grown up and just went through a phase at preventing to be a responsible adults. I know I did. My current band are all in their 20s except for me...
The picture on your profile rules!
